EDIT: Just read, some info;

It's called the "L4D authoring tool".

It includes examples and all the necessary updates.

An update to matchmaking for customs is coming.

They now support SketchUp for making props etc.

Very tempted to learn how to use Hammer properly. Ive always wanted to make a TF2 map but way before Left 4 Dead actually came out me, Rennac and Nannal talked about making a map using our school but we kind of forgot about it seeing as it took forever for the SDK to actually come out.

Being arrested by the police for making a map in-game that represents a real place that could potentially be used to lead to an act of terrorism or a school shooting.

Not that we are like that. I wanted to make a map of our school. I made a tiny really rubbish no-where near complete one for the original Half-Life.

This true. We founf reports of some guy making his school into a CSS map, and he got arrested and put into prison for it :|

Ah yeah I heard about that. Couldnt I just use the excuse that I was using it so that if zombies attacked I knew how to defend it properly? :P

Also with a map of the school it is slightly easier for the mapper since the actual layout is already there for you so you can worry more about making the map rather than designing the map.
