It doesn't, DHR meant that it has made people a little more aware of it. It won't matter much either way as no-one seems to notice cancer until it hits them hard in a part of their body. She isn't trying to help people, she's just getting money for her children.

Well if cancer WAS an STI... it would be more common in the world than Chlamydia in the UK (1/5 have Chlamydia according to statistics).
And as far as I know there isn't a complete 100% cure for cancer which would wipe out most of the human race.

Because cancer is mutated cells, "curing" it is a probably a wrong phrase. To "cure" cancer you have to either kill or remove the mutated cells.

And killing/removing the mutated cells can be difficult if they are in particular locations or if they have spread to other parts of the body. Some mutated cells can actually just stay dormant, thus fooling the scans and then begin to divide much later and thus bringing back the cancer. Others can go to nasty spots such as your brain which may prove difficult to remove. Inside the heart, inside the lungs, there are plenty of places for them to hide or spread to that would make them a menace.
The amusing thing is your body's reaction to them: it either ignores them or attacks them. And whilst attacking the cancer cells there are casualties along the way in the form of normal cells in the vicinity of the cancer cells. If the tumour is in your brain or any other vital organ, your own body will tear itself apart which is rather ironic: the thing that protects us is also the thing that will kill us if we get an impossible-to-remove cancer.

People die. It is a fact of nature that every one of us is dying, some more quickly than others admittedly. One of the most predictable things in life is death, it will come for us all eventually.
To be honest Toxic, with all that she has done in this world, it is hard to respect her. Admittedly nobody really deserves death, few actually do deserve and even though many crave death, nobody really deserve to die.

It's actually a really good idea. Leaving Earth requires a lot of fuel because of Earth's gravitational field. The moon has 1/6th of the Earth's gravity, making it require much less to leave. This means you can use all your fuel taking off from Earth, then refil before travelling to Mars. The actual travelling will take very little fuel, there aren't any forces to decelerate you after all (think of a satellite, it doesn't need to keep burning fuel, only a small burst every few years). This means you will have a lot of fuel left when it comes to leave Mars, which you will need. Mars is smaller than Earth, and has about 2/5ths the gravity, so you won't need as much as you did to leave Earth.

In the end, this means you can make your spacecraft fuel tanks much smaller, and saves a lot of money and energineering.

Well, except putting the base on the moon to begin with.

To phase this like your analogy, it would be like having to reach the end of your garden with concrete blocks on your legs and then being able to reach New Zealand in a single jump.

I doubt it. Diana was inspirational for a lot more people. The fact that a lot of people still think she was murdered keeps her in the press.
