kk, my mac came, im happy, now as i promised, a review, enjoy, i will keep adding to it by the way.

kk, first of all lets get wot i ordered out of the way. It was a mac mini, 1.42GHz PowerPC G4
512MB DDR333 SDRAM
ATI Radeon 9200
32MB DDR video memory
80GB Ultra ATA hard drive
SuperDrive (DVD?RW/CD-RW)
DVI or VGA video output
Built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth
I also ordered IWorks with it, and it comes free with iLife. I also ordered the mighty mouse and apple wired keyboard.

So it first came in a MASSIVE cardboard box, and a small one (which as i guessed contained the mouse). I instantly get some scissors and open it up, after this LONG w8 and deciding I hate apple, it comes, and instantly im on good terms with them, you open the box and theres the keyboard and iWorks box, then a smaller box inside, its the mac, i open the smaller box, and whaddaya no, im right YEY, I quickly open the box, which is INCREDIBLY small and fine a nice small, fashiona so i set ble Mac Mini inside, [i:13b4993747]how convienient[/i:13b4993747] so i set up the whole comp, all nice and neat, works a charm. Well actually I didnt have the power plugged into the transfrmer at first, so nothing happened for a while, but when my brother noticed (he wanted to watch) we were up and running, turn it on, loads. Ok this was the first problem, turning on takes a while, but good things must w8. So it loads, and im instantly setting up. Quickly detects my network, select it, use my already made Apple ID (for iTunes origanally) and set up logon, takes barley anytime at all, then got on. So now im using it.

Lets start at how it basically is, the mouse. This is the apple mighty mouse, i loved this. Looks great, works great. Scroll BALL, yes, side to side as well. If you are a Mac user you may have had the problem of not being able to find lost windows behind others, well the side click shows all windows apart from each other for easy finding. The one problem im having is my right click, it may just be me or my mouse, but its a bit hard to use, doesnt always work.

The keyboard looks GREAT, loved this too, has a nice "down" sloping curve, and its hard to describe, but its like a plastic sheet, with keys raised up, then a tray place over to give it a nice raised height. The keys are in slightly different places for example the speech marks and @ sign are different, but it does have a euro symbol as well. The keys are slightly bigger, this is giving me a couple of problems, but im gettin used to it (practicing while typing this out) the keys are also softer to press. This is probably on many other keyboards, WHICH IVE NEVER HAD, and using capslock, ive noticed wot the little black dot on it is. It is actually a light, to show if capslock is on.

The rest is coming soon, to computers and consoles, reviews

Wow, very good, remember to get some pictures of the Mac itself and some screens of the software.

Yeah, that would be cool. If you don't mind, I'd put it up in 2 versions; the standard version and the version you made?

EDIT: It would also be good if you could include a mini guide for Windows users, such as shortcut keys and the like, so people will know how to use it.

Guess what?

Mac mini with Intel Core Duo is 4x faster.

I'm still thinking about buying a Mac for my girlfriend. She wants a computer without the fuss, and undoubtedly, no question about it, a Mac comes first on that list.

The reason I couldn't use a Mac is because I like to fiddle too much. But the joy of using a Mac comes from its simplicity, and its incredibly efficient coding... But I think this is only truly experienced with an Apple Widescreen Cinema HD display, that start at roughly ?600 for the 20", so it's quite a price to pay. You do get what you pay for, if you want a computer that works.

Ahh, but it's an Intel, and CoreDuos are rubbish and expensive.

True, though for those weeny applications, it does the job. I wouldn't normally credit Apple in suh a way, but if they're targeting casual computer users who want to browse the web, listen to music, chat to friends, they made a cheap, reliable machine that will surely sell well. It looks better than any Mini PC I've seen too.

Hmm, I think I actually saw a PC that looked like a Mac Mini the other day.

I don't think Apple released a version of OS X to run on PC's... OS X is Apple's baby!

Anybody noticed how Vista is copying most/all of OS X's features.. appearance, virtual folders, search capabilities etc. OS X has been doing it for a while now.

Apple wouldn't release a version of OS X for PC's because then the sales of their Mac's go down. There is a guy buy the name of 'Maxxxus' who has hacked several versions of OS X so that they run on standard X86 machines. There are also project pages (like osx86project) devoted to this sort of thing. Bottom line is that if you want to run OS X properly, you need to buy a Mac.

The main problem with Apple's is the price - the only "cheap" one is the Mini, and that isn't very useful for many purposes, i.e. as a second computer that's not a desktop, the laptops need to be cheaper.

That's what i meant i was going to test, even though the clear illegalities.
But it will also help to answer an intresting question, is the mac osx software actually faster?

It won't be on a standard X86 machine. You'll suffer an extreme performance penalty!

I dont really care, as the machine i will run it on is extremely screwed, so much that running it sometimes can cause the mobo to stop allowing data transfer, it doesnt really matter

I heard that OS X is indeed a ram hog, and will happily use all of that 256MB RAM. It doesn't page much, though, which is good because it's faster, to a point.
