Ah, so only working in ghetto mode. I was asking because I had the same problem when I tested it. Seems it's a bit rubbish. Annoying, cos it seems to be good quality and none watermarked (though it uses a stupid proprietry codec).

Xfire recording is good, as it doesn't take much time.

But if you have the time, and a good enough PC using fraps and compressing the video down to a normal size will give you such a boost in quality over xfire's video system, it's not even worth comparing.

Maybe fecking tell us how to do it properly? Rather than just moaning that we cant do it the same way you can -_-

As far as I'm aware, unless you have a very fancy soundcard (which i dont) I dont have any other way of recording the sound aswell...

Well sorry, my instructions work for Vista only, which if you care to take a look, you don't use cos you listen and believe more bullshit than our bloody government tries to dripfeed us.
Fancy sound card? Oh yes the power of the onboard sound controller, fear the power!??! WTF man.

I only had a look at it briefly when I tried. I've enabled the Stereo Mix in Vista and changed it to that in XFire. I just checked my Realtek sound drivers panel and stereo mix was set to really low volume, so that might have been it.

Still didn't work. The sound is there, but it's really low volume still...

Woops... just checked and it had changed to RT Digital Input rather than stereo mix.

BTW, split this off into an xfire thread, lol.

1.) Built in sound card:
Line-In OR Stereo Mix.
If you do either, unplug your microphone just in case.

2.)Haul ass to nearest store, buy a REAL sound card.
"What U Hear" or something resembling that should be available in your selection menu, use that, and it will record what your sound card is "hearing", EVERY modern sound card has this.

lol Ogris, I only use onboard now because I use its optical out, otherwise I'd still be using my old creative soundcard.

You've just reminded me of another method. Short out and in then your mic is what you hear.

Yeah, could try that. The reason I don't have a soundcard is cost (don't want to spend money on a soundcard I don't need, and only card that can give a real bonus is X-Fi) and space (check my computer build thread, I only have 1 PCI-E slot spare).

Its only the sound thats the issue really... The mouse capture sometimes doesnt work either, but most of the time that doesnt matter so much. I just think its nice to be able to record a video as youre playing and not worry about its hammering your FPS or anything :/ And its much easier to me than using Fraps...
