I'd swear we had a thread about this, but ah well.

Anyone tried the new GFWL? I've bought a couple of games recently that use it (and have experience with the old one from GoW PC).

Anyway, it's a massive improvement, though it's still poor. It seems a lot more stable than the previous one, aswell, though that could be because I was playing GoW (buggy mess) around XMas last year (when Live failed miserabley).

The actual interface is pretty clean, but can be hard to navigate to where you want, though it's a lot easier than before.

It does seem to confict with Steam, though. In Flatout: UC (Steam edition) I could open GFWL but not Steam (well, I could to begin with, but not after a while).

Also, the "Gold" stuff is now free for PC users, apparently (changed in July, don't know if it lasted), which is how it should be.

Anyone on GFWL/XBL (they're the same service, technically), feel free to add me, Srelliks is my "gamertag" (I'll stick to username, TYVM).

Oh, and for some reason, Flatout hates Steam. it lags when I get pop-ups and when I try talking to people it picks up the keystrokes. On a game with a menu that uses keystrokes that's very annoying.

So you don't have to pay for GFWL? So that means I can get the games and not feel like im playing shitty xbox live?!

Yup, all the Gold features were made free. Probably after they realised no PC gamers were paying for them and it was killing the online aspect of the games and possibly reducing unit sales.
