well, not actually so new being honest, its a couple of weeks old now. but today i thought i would post a little information on it for all those registered on ED.

Ok, so I'm online in Steam, there are no interesting maps on my favourite servers and there are not enough people on Steam friends to make a 5v5 mix. Therefore, for the first time, I used the ED mix system!

Login using your ED details and you can see a list of around 8 servers, each with a "lobby" and the number of players within that lobby. When there is 10, a match is obviously started, making random teams, etc. on a map chosen.

I joined the lobby of server 5, the maps of which were going to be Dust2 or Prodigy - wars available on many De_maps depending on the popular demands of those who have joined the lobby. I have played prodigy once before and so was glad to see that the map chosen was Dust2.

Server details were given to me as a user, as well as which team to join. I was told CT for the first half of a match with MR9.

The match was lived and so off we went, the T's pushed short and i died first round, not a good start!

However, we ended the half as CT winning 5-4, including a round where i made a 3 man clutch and diffuse .

We went on to win the T side of the map 5-1, therefore ending the match.

My stats overall were:

hope that shows up ok. so im doing pretty good against ED players! and there werent any you suck noob etc on the server, was very good fun. So maybe check it out for yourselves sometime! no doubt i will be very soon, to get some more experience playing against some ED players .

Sounds like a good system! Is this the Be internet thing on their website?

yeah on the right hand side, several servers playing different maps etc. You choose which one to join and you play a mix.

I thought its a really good idea myself, especially to play some wars against ED standard players, can only help me get better

I also like maps such as contra and russka are available to play

I play in TF2 mixes organized by MultiPlay sometimes. Sounds a lot like this, just a slightly different system.

I think its awesome. You get to learn how different the game can be played and get to play against and with some very skilled players.

yeh its real good just to get some war experience - of course it also helped that people on the server were friendly rather than the typical ffs u suck kinda thing you often see in css.

is that an mirc channel gozzer? or a web, if so could you post it for me as i wouldn't mind mixing on tf2 occasionally also!

on this ED mixing system, there is also an instant availability of the demo! you can watch it back to see where it all went wrong or include some awesome footage for a *EDIT* frag movie (originally put war )!

A lot of the players are pretty skilled and it can be damn hard. Some of the people I have encountered are complete dicks, but I'd say the majority are nice and will help out. I suggest watching a few games through the HLTV Servers first, then perhaps starting out as a medic. The game style is a lot different to what you see on public servers and doing this will give you a great chance to see and feel the difference.

I found it quite hard in my first few games, but then I got into it and really started enjoying it. Scouting is just bloody awesome, its just 6v6, skill and teamwork. No spam, class spam or luck!
