Looks like its time for the new iPods to come out:

http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/

Looks like they've gone back a bit to the 2G version, which I think is good, those 3G short fat <I AM INSULTING PEOPLE> did look god damned ugly and the wheel was the worst ever to come on one yet! They also released iTunes 8 for running it.

Oh, and you can run spore on it too lol

Looks fairly nice, better and more sleek than the 3G. Still, it's an iPod, so I don't want one ^^

lol, i don't know if your the same, but for me, its more the iTunes I don't want rather than the iPod. iTunes is the most annoying POS music player I've ever used!

Oh yeah, it's a combination. Not only that but I have a fair bit of WMP music I don't want to convert (even if I can recover it).

I don't like iPods because they are over loved and overpriced, they aren't even that good either (just middle of the line - you can't really go wrong with them, but they're not the best).

TBH you don't need the latest version of any MP3 player (or phone or camera etc). I stayed with my last MP3 player until it broke, and my current want is already 2 gens out of date (can't remember if it's 1 or 2 years old).

I don't get the end of that video, though, every company changes products regularly, Apple just does it more with smaller changes.

As for the usability of iTunes/iPods, I find it much easier to use WMP. The clickwheel is a bit meh to me, I've seen much better interfaces before, and all in all it's just an up/down spin with buttons and the compass points, nothing spectacular (my Creative player had up/down rocker and various buttons, it's all the same). What is usable is what you are used to.

I've got an iphone, and I can highly recommend it! If the new nano is anything like the iphone is will be v awesome. I constantly play with it outside the house. So many free games!
