What do you think?
Personally I think it is one of the greatest engineering achievements ever in regards to road vehicle!
And this has nothing to do with the practicality of it. It's all about the engineering masterpeice that is the Veyron.
Oh, and don't edit this poll, StarBucks/anyone else ;).

Hey, we're not arguing the sake of practicality. We're saying the Veyron is an awesome peice of engineering and is an awesome SUPERCAR, none of qhich have very good mpg! I would still like one, though!

As I've said before, it's not about practicality! It's an amazing peice of engineering!

It's a demonstration of what modern technology and refinement is actually capable of. Tht's what engineering is about.

But concepts are just that - concept! They haven't been proven!
As for F1, this car shows you can get so much in a car that looks ordinary.

well concept cars are not alway just concepts they are proper cars that enginers spend ages on making one which more enginers mess with to make the company a selection of cars

Most concept cars are too mad to be used as ordinary cars. Also, the Veyron was once a concept car.

They are making 30, each of which will cost nearly 1 million pounds. I think the people who buy them will have access to something like that! And that also means it isn't that commercial, just road legal.

It was to prove that super performance cars don't hve to be track only.
On a side note, an ebay ad has appeared at the top of the page saying "great deals on te Bugatti Veyron". Unfortunately it's only models.

i realy don't see the point of making that type of car for the road especialy more than 1 or 2 of them in just a way of showing the enginering

I think Jeremy Clarkson said that you can fill it up with 100 litres of fuel (roughly ?100), and, if going top speed, could get it all back out in 12 minutes.

Yeah, but that's only at top speed, and you would still do 50 miles in that time! Wait, that's not much...
It comes out at about 2mpg! LOL! Though you could probably double that by not braking!
It's a masterful peice of engineering to get such speed. And it isn't just the "put a bigger engine in it" attidude, everything has been thought through.
Wait! They didn't put it round the track! :(

no because it has no handleing probably for that type of trak and wouldn't be ne better than most other cars cause they couldn't get over the normal speed

OK, a quote from a review of this car;
[quote:b8bcc709a5="Clarkson"]On a recent drive across Europe I desperately wanted to reach the top speed but I ran out of road when the needle hit 240mph. Where, astonishingly, it felt planted. Totally and utterly rock steady. It felt sublime.
Not quiet, though. The engine sounds like Victorian plumbing ? it looks like Victorian plumbing as well, to be honest ? and the roar from the tyres was biblical. But it still felt brilliant. Utterly, stunningly, mind blowingly, jaw droppingly brilliant.
And then I reached the Alps where, unbelievably, it got better. I expected this road rocket to be absolutely useless in the bends but it felt like a big Lotus Elise.
...
This car cannot be judged in the same way that we judge other cars. It meets drive-by noise and emission regulations and it can be driven by someone whose only qualification is an ability to reverse round corners and do an emergency stop. So technically it is a car. And yet it just isn?t.
Other cars are small guesthouses on the front at Brighton and the Bugatti is the Burj Al Arab. It makes even the Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT feel slow and pointless. It is a triumph for lunacy over common sense, a triumph for man over nature and a triumph for Volkswagen over absolutely every other car maker in the world. [/quote:b8bcc709a5]
Do some research before you slag it off! Read the entire article here. And read it ALL befere you use it to judge the Veyron (the first bit is about cars in general, methinks).

of corce the fact that the corners on the alps are right round the sides of mountians and genraly massive not tight track corners has nothing to do with it

Most mountain tracks aren't round moutains, but zig zagging up them! And that's only part of the argument.

See, it's really good! That's the whole point! Loads of things in this world don't really have "points", they're just there to show off and have fun.
