Got it now guys so I can shout at you when I see someone instead of using voice commands which people rarely pay attention to- was standing in front of Medic on 14hp shouting Medic 7 times before being killed... what a noob Medic... and no it wasn't Wigouche who was quite good (well done mate and thanks for the healings! You saved my life several times!). T'is a good headset :)
Thanks Met. I bother to heal EVERYONE who is in need of healings regardless of class. I know most Medics out there are noobs and stick with their Heavy buddy, but I am not like that one bit and if I see someone injured I will heal them immediately unless I am about to uber my patient and rush with him. Just please STAND STILL! You were jumping all over the place and it was difficult to lock onto you! Even if you are a Spy and injured, I will heal you back to 150% health so just call me when you need me and stand still until I am healing you :)
Cheers Skillers, it was a very lucky uber- charged and deployed just before I died of height fall (was blasted into the air by a demoman and was on 2 hp from blast, fall would have killed me). Kept connection which I lost during my ascent into heaven then reconnected as I plummeted, charged and deployed just before I hit the ground. Really lucky for me. A pyro the knocked me off you and I quickly recharged you just before you died so you could deal with the sentry nest ^^ It was mostly luck in my opinion.
Glad to know that you think I am a good Medic though :)

When I am a scout, I keep an eye out for enemies attacking friendly medics and always do my best to annoy them and I guess as a bonus take them out...

Sorry for the dodgyness Hawke, I was just messing with you ;)

Forget chasing the scout- retreat from him and let him chase you... if he is firing at you, take cover and dodge his shots as best as you can whilst firing your Syringes at him. Most Scouts will decide to forget shooting at you when they are out of ammo and try to bat you to death. Draw your saw out and give him a good whack with it. Try to hit them as they jump over you- they are at their most vunerable then- they can't hit you whilst jumping unless they are seriously skilled and you just turn right around un up and hit them as they come over you.
Scouts are generally cowards so once they are hurt enough they will retreat leaving you free to replenish your health as well....

Secondly: DON'T SPAM THE MEDIC COMMAND. If you are hurt, but not desperate, DO NOT CALL FOR A MEDIC! You are not in immediate danger and can easily survive. If you are desperately hurt (ie your health bar is red) only then call for a Medic. When you do call, wait patiently for him to get to you and heal you, don't go calling over and over again as this is technically spam and will annoy the Medic. If you are in the proximity of a Medic, call him once, stand in front of him and watch for enemies. He will heal you unless he is an idiot.

I understand this rule and can see why you said it. however there are exception....

for example, I play sniper, and say i get hit by some splash damage from a soldiers rocket, my life might not be in red but i could still be in desperate need of healing.... the reason for this is say I'm having a shoot out with another sniper, if the sniper hits my body with an uncharged shot it will do a lot of damage but not kill me.... If i only have say half life because of splash damage then the uncharged body shot from my opponent could kill me.... where as if a medic heals me I wont die.... so some classes should be able to call medic even if they have MOST of their life left (e.g. sniper)

You could argue the same point for any class, if you're in the firing line, the less health you have, the more likely you are to die to any weapon.

yeah you can, but i used the sniper as my example because 8/10 a sniper is killed by another sniper and a sniper shot does 110-195 (head shots) 34-66 (body shot) uncharged.....

a snipers shot does instant damage, unlike most classes that doe gradual damage (e.g. pyro (burns)

does that make sense?

Nope, I say you dont treat youre medic. Its up to a medic to treat you, they should heal you, warn you of spies, put out youre fire and even uber you. This would be a nice suggestion to all medics out there... BRAIN!!

So that is why most Medics I know are pretty annoyed that their team most of the time completely disregard them and treat them as healing machines than actual people...
It is up to the Medic to heal, uber and other parts of the job... yes.
You DO need to treat your Medic well, De4dCh1ck3n. Otherwise it makes the Medic's lives a lot shorter and harder and generally doesn't make them useful to the team if nobody on their team cares if they are getting shot or attacked. If you just completely disregard them and don't treat them well, you can expect them to not bother healing you as much as you are a waste of their time as there are other people on the battlefield who will do a much better job of protecting them than you will and will actually appreciate their help.
I can understand if Braindead doesn't wish to heal you as much or uber you etc... because you probably never protect him and prefer to see him as a convenience than an actual part of the team. My advise to you if you wish to get more ubers etc is to BE A BETTER PATIENT TO MEDICS. You can't just say that you shouldn't treat your Medic and that they should treat you, it is disrespectful to Medics in general. We are a vital part of the team and without us, many people would die. If you protect your Medic, as I pointed out you should for extremely obvious reasons, you will be rewarded. You cannot expect us to give it all to you and then be killed immediately afterwards because you didn't listen to your Medic begging you to simply turn around and kill and Soldier/Pyro that was attacking him.

Pet-that does make sense. But in all honesty, spamming the command is still annoying to Medics as it messes up their priorities as there may be a seriously wounded Heavy around who called once and if you call more times, the Medic will assume you are more desperate and help you and find you have more than enough health to get you by whereas the Heavy is very desperate and probably not pushing up, thus letting the enemy through to win the match. If you are too hurt to try and snipe-duel another Sniper, just change position and wait for a Medic to come to you when he can or find a health pack near you. If you are shot by a Sniper and you are still zoomed in, wait for him to come back out and kill him with a fully charged shot before he can kill you with another shot. If you find you are constantly in Sniper-duels and you lose everytime, it may be time to switch class mate or just avoid the area that the Sniper is camping in and let a Spy deal with him (Metritutus or myself would be happy to assist ;)), then move back into the area. Snipers don't really get healings much by Medics unfortunately as they are usually busy on the front lines helping Heavies push through. If a Medic walks past you and doesn't heal you, spam away until he does by all means. If he totally ignores you, shout at him- he is a noob Medic. Hope that helped :)

I think that's appalling! Medics are not mindless, they just don't have much health, and thus tend to die if you don't defend them.

Medics have a lot to deal with when healing. They can't concentrate on everything at once. It's up to you to watch your back as well. Good spies can easily pick off the attacker, abandoning the medic, before the medic can even get off a warning.

I get what this topic is about, and i know that you're talking about the medic because everyone always over uses the medic button... but, In game you should treat everyone with respect, not just the medic!

I am talking about the Medic..... the title gave me that impression ;)
You should treat everyone with respect. But not everyone seems to treat Medics with respect hence I started this topic to try and help us Medics out and get people to appreciate us a little more... it seems that Medics will always be under-appreciated by people on TF2. Reminds me of racism, you can campaign all you want but at the end of the day, it will still be around for a long time before it is totally eliminated... so best to get on with the healings and ubers and let them be idiots....
It's pretty much a dead topic now so I await Darth Reedious' locking button to take action on this topic soon... ;)
