Is anyone looking forward to this game being released. From what EA have released so far, it seems there are massive improvements it's gonna have over The Sims 2. The one I think will be the best is that they've (so they claim) made it so there will be no load times between sections, so you can go from the main screen, to your neighbourhood to your house without the 2 hour long load time. This opens up great possibilities as Sims can now explore the entire neighbourhood by wandering around.

Also they've added it so time is universal in game. Say you had one house, and then moved onto another house, time would still run at the same rate everywhere else, so while your working on your second house, the people in the first one would still age, get memories and everything else the Free Will AI allows them to.

So yea, what does anyone else think this games gonna end up like?

I am looking forward to this but not as much as my girlfriend is.

I got the first information about it in PC Gamer a few months back. It made the front page.

Nothing was mentioned in the PC Gamer article and in the YouTube vids and any other online game sites like IGN and GameSpot, there's nothing about online features. It will likely include some sort of mini-social-networking type thing, like Sims 2.

Some interesting pictures. Aslong as they don't release 700 expansion packs, I won't hate this game ^^

They always release alot of expansions packs and generally you dont need them all.. Maybe 1 or 2 that sound cool xP

Anyway this game sounds interesting but it sounds like it would be a pain in the ass if you spend ages and ages in one house with your people to find out the ones in the other house are now dead...

Seems like you could almost wipe out the entire neighbourhood by only paying attension to one place xP

Lol thats true, but basically the way they've put it. You can run all the homes at once, because they all run in realtime, you can move the camera from house to house instantly, meaning instead of controling 8 sims, you could manage 800 at once lol

Like you could be controlling one family, and then you see smoke rising from the other side of the neighbourhood - quickly fly over there and discover your dream family has burnt down when you tried to impress the headmaster with your Lobster Thermidor and it went horribly wrong.

That would get confusing though. I sucked enough using just 2 or 3 people and keeping them in a standard kind of way/alive....

but having to jump from house to house would suuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Plus its sounding more and more like this is going to utterly rape my current computer xP

If they improve the Sims' AI, it could work quite well. I seem to remember Sims needing "babysitting" to do stuff properly, but if they could be self sufficient it would work.

Their not to bad at doing things themselves on Sims 2. I made a huge ass house a couple of weeks back.. Put like bathrooms on every floor and shit to find at what they were doing.

Very illogical ways of doing things like running all the way to the top floor to use that bathroom instead of the identical one on the bottom floor?

But they were clever enough to keep their mood pretty average. Just the aspirations and stuff didn't work unless you did things yourself..

One of the most major improvements is in the AI. The new game is built around the AI, apparently. They started the game off in a 2D mode and playtested the AI to the max.

Thats good then. Their AI wasn't terrible but I think if the game is going to be like that its very necessary xP

Question though.. Is it in real time during building houses and shit? Or does it pause like usualy. Cause thats a complete <FEMALE DOG> if things carry on while your making a house.

No it just doesnt allow me to say B I T C H << dunno if that will work?

but anyway the word filtering is pointless at least you should have the option of turning it off on your profile or settings or some shit like that...... Dunno if there is?

It's there just because some people were excessively swearing. Everyone knows what you're saying anyway, each filter is different.

Anyway, I'd imagine it would keep the gameplay of being paused while building, it doesn't make sense, otherwise.

Hmm the sheer terror of finding out how many sims died whilst you were building your latest love shack after an hour or 2.

Technically it does make sense to do that, but it would be horribly unless time passes at the same pace it would for us in which case nothing would have happened.

Im sooo guna get this!!!

Only thing is when im making a house I take forever so my sims will be long dead, unless its paused still, coz that would realllllly help me lol :P

And sims can sometimes complete aspirations by themselves, but its only like 'flirt with <name>' or 'make omlette' simply cz they do that for social and hunger lol, but things like, buy a bookshelf or... go out on date, you kinda need to do yourself lol.

Have you ever made a sim really tired and then made them go swimming XD

hysterical lol, i still think that the should have an expansion where you get to live on a farm and look after animals, it should have been in pets or something, I think it would be a good idea, seeing as im sure the majority or people that buy the games are girls so we can live our fantasies out lol, even some guys im sure wouldnt mind have a farm to work on lol :P

anyhuuu theres a new sims2 stuff pack coming out last one i believe till sims3 in february :D its masion and garden, so i assume more garden stuff which is nice coz really you can only fill it with flowers and trees and a pool if your on a big lot, and since sims2 seasons you can grow things aswel but still if youve got a massive back garden like somtimes i do, then it just seems kinda empty, ive got a piccy of one of the houses i did on that other thread, of game print screens, so have a look see there at my houses lol even though there better now than they were then.
