Advertising for their own software (and hardware I guess)

I just found this on an old CD that's years old, does anyone remember Microsoft's aim to get people to use Windows Media Center PCs back in '02?

Basically does that ring a bell or any old stuff that is like the most random thing ever in aiming to get you to buy their software.
