General/Summary:
This is an incredible game.If you liked Sim City 2000 you will love 3000.The graphics are in stunning 3 dimensions, and with each zoom in you will see more detail(cars, people, etc). The sounds have been changed so that they reflect each area you are in (residential zones feature dogs barking, sprinklers, etc) while industrial zones feature machinery noises.
While there are some similarites between SC2000 and SC3000,3000 is a much deeper and more complex game. You now have more interactions with your neighbors, staff and citizens.Your neighbors will ask you to sell you power or water, and your citizens will petition you for new laws and will give you suggestions. If you make a deal to sell power to your neighbors in the beginning of a game, you can make a nice sum of cash.
This game is much more difficult than SC2000.It takes longer to build a large city and you will have more things to worry about, such as pollution, neighbor deals and citizen petitioners.
I highly reccommend this game if you enjoyed SC2000.You will find it rewarding and challenging, and the graphics will blow you away.

Gameplay:
Very smooth, some slowdowns when loading large cities. The water takes some time to flow into all areas. The transitions between zoom levels are smooth and seamless. The system requirements say you can run this on a 166,but I think if you have a 350 or above you will be better off. This is a big, complex game.

Graphics:
WOW.The buildings are in glorious 3D,and wait till you see some of the landmarks. The freeway system looks like a freeway system and the residential areas are very realistic.Once you have a large city with a dense downtown, check out the gorgeous high rises. They are the most stunning bulidings in the game.

Sound:
Very nice, not obstrusive at all.The music is pleasant and not overbearing. The ambient sounds are terrific, much more varied than in SC2000.

General/Summary:
This game was sooo awesome! At first the game was
pretty confusing( how to build bridges, ect.) but
after i figured it all out, I was hooked! This game is great because it is actually a challenge.
You have to deal with meltdowns, tornadoes, power
and water, and your advisors. This is the best sim I have played in a long time! This game is worth every penny I payed for it!

Gameplay:
The gameplay is kinda complicated because you have lots of different stuff to do. For the most part though, it is pretty simple. You have a menu, and you click on a certain thing, then put
it where you want it! This game got me so hooked in about five minutes. You can zoom in really far and watch individual people walk around and nifty stuff like that!

Graphics:
The graphics were a pretty nice part of the game. It had really great detail and terrain graphics. Some of the stuff was a little blocky like the people and cars, but thats no biggy. When you add water and trees, everything looks so real! I was rather impressed with the graphics myself.

Sound:
Sound was lacking. You have a few simple music selections, but nothing else really. When you put buildings down, some of them have different sounds, but they are pretty basic and get annoying after about 10 seconds. The sound was really the only bad part of the game. Even though the sound is'nt up to par, that doesnt make the game any less AWESOME! I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes sim games!

Yeah, it is an amazing game, just missed those huge weird complexes from 2000.

Simcity 4 is also out, it looks even better, but may have lost some of the charm of the previous versions.

Another note to make is that SimCity 2000 only had brown land, whereas 3000 has green and snow etc.

The addition of waste was good, as was the introduction of trading with neighbours.

The parades are annoying, though!

SimCity has always rocked, and The Sims (based loosly on SC) were good, until they were milked for all their worth with addon after addon!

....Or management fans. Very good business aspect to it, with great micromanagement, though it can be difficult for new players (you need to try a couple of times before you will succeed).

I havent played it for a while, but it ROCKS. When I used to play it my comp wud slow down and wouldnt be able to do the pipes to well, took time to go underground. I will never forget the plumber guy saying my plumbing was terrible. I look underground and half of my city is dry, then i would build a huge web, go back to the surface and the plumber wud say, GR8 JOB, then a few seconds later, MORE WATER, people are leavin Stu town, they dont have enough water. So Id start again. Sim City 3000 was one of the best games EVER. :D is a new one comin out, or has a new one come out cos i wud like to buy

Yeah, it is hard to get set up.

As for successors, Sim City 4 has been out for about a year now, don't know about the prospect of any more games.

EVERYONE HAS THE CHEATS, cos they rock, and thats great you build an amazing city then destroy it. The lot, start a riot, watch the people die, it also uses your mind a lot, and no game is the same. Everyone I talk to has a different tactic. So, play it, it rocks.

Riots are cool! They are really good to watch and quell. I build a huge city, save it, and completely destroy it with disasters! So much fire!

Spaceships, and the newsapapers are great, you can read really funny things, you should be able to buy the next door cities, and people should build where you dont want them but on you land, so you can send police around and kill them, lol

I have sim city 3 and 4. Sim City 4 is better because it is more 3d and the destroy your city options are more fun. But I must agree that it doesn't have the charm of sim city 3000.

Still, they kept the strange city advisors in all of them! (weird heads and stuff).

Destroy your city in Sim City 4 is very fun: Volcano! mmmmmmm 8)Lightening! And, steer your own tornado. Take it down a road with the mouse and destroy that one part of your city that complains about both the water AND the tax rate! 8)
