Hi guys.

I'm using Slax 6.0.6 at work as a recovery operating system. It's a very small distribution (under 200MB) that I boot off of a USB memory stick. The operating system works in read/write mode so any changes made on the stick will stay with me wherever I go. Handy, but not essential for what we use it for.

It reads NTFS partitions and connects to our Windows network without any problems and it accepts our Active Directory usernames and passwords to connect to our private shares. This is great for recovering data on unbootable Windows partitions.

Slax is based on Slackware and it runs KDE 3.5.

You can get Slax from http://www.slax.org/

Heh, you know I considered making myself something like this a couple of days ago, but can't really be bothered seeing as I probably wouldn't use it much.
