Is anyone else insane enough to buy this?

I am... even if its just for the building random stuff purposes (e.g. my Audiosurf Wii Balance Board GlovePIE script)

It seems interesting, but very very silly. It's just a set of four pressure sensors, lol. It will be interesting to see what you end up doing with the balance board.

It's a nice idea, but kinda pointless overall.

i swear i amdea topic on this already or was that a diffferent forum :s anyhoo..
No im not going to buy this! 70 quid are you kidding me! nu uh tooo expensive. I may buy it in the future if tehy price has gone down or the 10 games currently in developemnt for use with the wii board are any good but otherwise no :P i amight as well join a gym id get more out of it.

and no mark it isnt silly. In fact i think it is a very good idea. Its high tech piece of kit that can weigh u and detect the slightest cahnge of presure on any side. Its jsut wii fit alone isnt enough for me to buy it.

£70? Woah, I was expecting something more around £50 max, including the game and one board.

Keep in mind, some of the Wii Fit games don't even use the balance board... such as the jogging game that only uses a WiiMote in your trouser pocket.

Right, I bought it. First thing is the Wii Balance Board weighs MORE than the console, so just keep that in mind.

I also apparently weigh so much that I'm almost off the scale for BMI :P
(The device is so rediciously sensitive)

This is pretty good, though to be fair I've done 1h32m according to my FitCash today so maybe I need to give it a rest for a bit.

Oh, and for those that might find this interesting. Game in Gloucester ran out of all their 120 in-stock Wii Fits within an hour of release yesterday ><

Yes, way to go to reply to the really old post rather than what was lately discussed. Also, emotes have been changes as in the News Topic about smilies. ;)

Ewwwwm Aaron! And I think he meant screen-capped footage anyway.

You need to unlock games? How many are there in total?

No, Aaron. Just recordings from my PVR that it's plugged into.

Anyway, here's a couple of shots of the device before my camera run out of batteries, comparing the size of it to my laptop, and the box for those that want to see:

How about:
"Do not use while eating or drinking"
or "If you become aware of problems such as unusual sounds, smoke emission or strange smells, remove the batteries immediately, make sure that smoke is no longer being emitted and contact the Nintendo Service Centre." <-- See BRITISH!
"Do not use the Wii Balance board within 25cm of a pacemaker." DAMN thats some short person
Oh, and they say use it without socks or shoes on as feet grip more than socks. Wipe with dry cloth afterwards.

All I see on there is RVL-021. I don't see any other IDs anywhere.

That's quite a selection of activies there, I count about 50.

How well does it play? Does it pick up movements accurately etc?

im to get this real soon it will have to be after exams tho, will probably get it same time i get brawl or there abouts. Im currently loaded atm so money isnt an object may buy myself a wii as well :P. how many batteries does it eat up????

looks really good nice amount of mini games with plenty to unlock. Is it multipalyer?? like any games for two boards? because that would be great, as obv in the near future tthey will have to seel wii board seperately incase people need replacements or for more game using the board come out.

well worth the money si or should i wait untill it lowered?

4AA Batteries
Nintendo have set it so only 1 board per console, it ALWAYS becomes P4. So if theres 2 boards one will kick the other.

so say if there was another SSX on wii that used the board you could only have one person play at a time or only one person use the board imo that sucks

Or, maybe Nintendo might change something as the board only registers when in Wii Fit, so maybe in SSX or something in the device registration it might knock out P3 and P4?
Just keep checking http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Balance_Board#Software for what new games people are making, as for now we'll just have to see...

Oh yea, Hula Hooping makes you look like an idiot, either sticking your ass in and out, or looking like your trying to <ZOMG BAD WORD> the TV.
