This has been split from another post, that's why it seems to start funny. It's about stupid adverts and stuff for PCs.[/color:65180f2a9b]

To make it sound better.

Think about it - look at a PC World ad. They use terms like 64bit and HyperThreading, even though they offer no benefit at the moment. They do that because a non-knowledgeable customer will go "ooh, that sounds good, lets get it!"

I'm yet to see a 64bit PC World ad, mind. They love Intel.

// Edit: I haven't watched TV in a few weeks.

Actually, they don't use 64bit, but Intel don't really make a thing about their 64bit architecture (I don't think it's true 64bit, just extensions).

The latest add is something like;
"It's a 3 GHz Pentium 4 with HT technology"
"what?"
"It's a 3 GHz Pentium 4 with [i:bc568eb22a]Hyper Threading[/i:bc568eb22a] technology, which makes it faster for videos and pictures."

Yeah, Right! Since when have pictures been multithreaded (and HT only adds a logcal core, which doesn't do much anyway!)!

Haha, it's the typical kind of thing that happens when somebody goes in to PC World acting like they know nothing. Those sales people come up with some funny crap. Apparently MHz is energy.

LOL, yeah, they really know nothing, they're just given a pile of complecated sounding words, and are told to sell PCs with them. Though this is now off topic...So I split it.[/color:6085bda6e3]

Some guy down the road from my workplace told me that there is no difference between XP Home and XP Pro, apart from XP Pro was made for games.

There's no difference apart from a couple of different registry enteries. You can make XP Home become XP Pro. Pro has a couple of extra security features.

never take ur pc in for sevicing there as there staff that work on them don't know that a premade pc unaltered dosnt need bios editing and they install ati drivers for nvidcards (seriours srewing) and don't get the concept of overclocking

example i said y is this oc graph card ?50 more than that other 1 that is the same but dosnt have oc writen on and they said the thing was overcloced which meant that it used more pwer and made it better

Ha, yeah, they really are stupid. NEVER take PCs for servicing there - they would make it worse.

Hmm, has anyone got an old PC they want to record "after PC World", especially as bonfire night is coming up soon!

also on the PC World adverts, how the guy/woman who is from the shop starts saying something, and then the person who has entered, joins in for things like Intel, or mobile connection, yeah, they really know what there on about, and then they try to make the whole thing "matrix" like. This whole idea has to stop, ok it does look cool, and i admit i have used it a few times, but it has to stop. You see this kinda, flickerin, materilising, black and green, courier font, it makes morons think MATRIX, that must be a good computer, i want to be a hacker. And you can't. its stupid. And since im apparently a nerd or geek to my friends, even though I know barely anything about computers, i am firstly no good at hardware, forget everything, still get things muddled up, and im not too good at software. Yet people ask me, do u think u cud hack into the government computers, or, can u access school files, so ive brought network games to the school, introduced most my class to forums and net send, and even flash, so instead of makin a website they were animating, doesnt mean im good at computers. I actually feel a bit ashamed. Cos i have this huge mask makin me seem better than i am, cos half the people who do IS are idiots, and think its a time to play games *cough*NO NAMES[/color:4f1a04774f]*cough* and listen to music. Anyway, anyone who reads this, i no more than NO NAMES[/color:4f1a04774f], but less than u all think, so dont ask me for help, too much, cos normally, i cant.

P.S. Goto Black Flash, watch my latest, and best attck of the seagulls. If u want the sound version (my bro did the music, well put it together for perfect timing) contact me at [email protected] and have subject as Attack of the seagulls-sound or somethin similar

but you know a million times more than the people at PC World.

Also, please don't use people's real names in this forum, without permission (I know you didn't get permission from the two names you used).

Yeah, but I had said that before the recent events. You can insult him as much as you want, aslong as it stays in the general rules (swering and stuff). He is really, really annoying. Anyway, back to the topic...
