I fail to see whats ironic none of my posts area waste of time hence why youve got 11000 and ive got 100+

anyway update was pretty crap yay 2 minute demo, pokemon would be the worst: "you chose squirtle!" "your demo has ended" XD
never going to buy VC games much anyway.

Also DHR-107 internet isnt working so he found info about the starting line up for Brawl. The starting line up is apparently all the characters on the Dojo minus Sonic and Snake. This makes sense as these characters are 3rd Party. Also there has abeen a screen shot relaesed of a colour change for Charizard. He has his shiny colour change which is Black rather than the original orange, which is the fans most wanted colour change. As tehy starting line up has now been revield i dont think we will see anymore character updates seeing as there are only 3 left (mon tues and wed). Keep watching this site as by next weekend this topic will explode with info :P

In telling me that I added nothing, you consequently added nothing aswell, hence being ironic. I didn't realise I had that many posts, though, I thought I was at 8000ish! :|

I think the timed demos are only the games which you simply start then progress in, attempting to do it in a quick time. By limiting the time you could never hope to play much of the game, even though it is all available to you. Other demos would be based on level restriction, like a pokemon demo (which I'm not sure there would be) would limit you to the first Gym or something, by simply adding a blockade on the next route.

So that would make 23 starting characters, or 21 with 2 having extra forms? We know there's atleast 3 more characters, I think, and there will probably be a fair few more on top of that, but they will be kept hidden to add surprsie to the game. Not that it won't be all over the internet in 2 days after release (assuming some will take a fair amount of playtime to unlock).

Black Charizard sounds pretty cool. I wonder how the Trainer's colour schemes work, as each pokemon has a different starting colour, so it could be interesting.

It wasnt a "junk" post. I felt it was validated. In fact it actaully did contribute as you finally stoped twittering on and actually posted something of relaltive interest, or relevance.

Anyway, restricting the 1st gym for pokemon demo thats quite a long demo.. at least 1 hour if you take it slow. I m not that bothered about the demos to be quite frank, id rather play brawl LOL. And the updates will probably wont be that exciting. Im guessing a stage for sonic and music and maybe an item.

The 1s gym thing was just an example of the kinda of thing it would be. Demos are generally just the first level, and a gym seemed analogous of a level in pokemon. It's still not a very large percentage of the full game at that much, anyway.

I think we may have atleast one good update before release. They'll want to get everyone hyped on release, and the best way to do that is to show of something really spectacular. Maybe we'll see a cool gameplay video or a big feature. Or perhaps even a very secret character (not a returner). Then again, we may not as they might decide the best way is to get people to get the game to find it out for themselves.

Thanks, between you you managed to cover most of yesterdays news...

About the update, it really does look brilliant. I hope these will be unlocked via completing Classic Mode with said Character (IE, completing with Pit unlocks Kid Icarus etc). And it also gives some people who dont/cant buy VC games the option of playing them if they want!

We do know the starting line up for sure now however...

Mario
Peach
Bowser
Yoshi
Wario
Donkey Kong
Diddy Kong
Pit
Link
Zelda/Sheik
Kirby
King Dedede
Pikachu
Samus/Zero Suit Samus
Fox
Ike
Lucas
Captain Olimar and the Pikmin
Metaknight
Pokemon Trainer
Ice Climbers

Pretty decent selection. However, I'd of rather had to unlock Metaknight and King Dedede...

It also looks like (from early game testers) that King Dedede and Ike are stupidly powerful. Both can KO Mario with fully charged foward smash's from the center of Final Destination at around 20% damage... However, we already know Ike is very slow, and King Dedede is a heavyweight (So we asume him to be slow).

Dedede has also been confirmed to have 4 jumps. 1 less than Kirby and Metaknight, and the same amount as Pit.

Also, Wall Hopping (Or Wall Jumping as we know it over here) is returning. It is also been noted that "Wall Clinging" is also a technique as well as the crawling that was mentioned a while ago. We dont really know what the Wall Cling insues... Other than clinging to a wall... Wall hops werent used much in Melee (Mainly because only 8 characters could do it).

Cant wait to see what comes up next week!

That's a very big starting lineup compared to previous games, isn't it? Also, what percentage of characters did you have to unlock? If it was about half, that could mean we are on to get 40+ characters, which would be awesome!

King Dedede and Ike being powerful probably isn't a problem, becase, as you say, they are slow. THis means avoiding them will be easier, so if they land a hit it should be painful.

Its almos the size of the entire Melee group....

21/23 Starters this time around. 8 in the original (of 12), and 12 in melee (Out of 25/26).

The only thing I dislike, is the fact that players are gong to have to remembe pros and cons of ALL these characters... Some people struggled with 26 different styles. I'm guessing there will be around 35-40 characters... 45 as an absolute maximum. To be honest, there cant be that many more "large" Nintendo Characters remaining...

EDIT: Just found this...

Image

Which is the starting order, minus Sonic and Snake :D

I think that's actually a moderately good thing. It forces players to adapt to styles on the spot, rather than just remembering how to do everything for every character. Of course, people will develop a favourite set, which they perfect, but it shows real ability to be able to play with any style without memorising their abilities.

Everyone (hardcore players) tends to be good with everyone, and exceptional at 2 or 3 people.

See, some of the charatcers I hate... Pichu for example, i suck at... If i could do a list from worst to best it would be something like this (Melee people)

Pichu
Mewtwo
Ganondorf
Doc Mario
Donkey Kong
Fox
Link
Jigglypuff
Young Link
Zelda
Pikachu
Marth
Mario
Bowser
Mr Game And Watch

Next sort of 6 are all really close together...

Falco
Roy
Ness
Samus
Sheik
Yoshi

And then probs my top 5

Peach
Ice Climbers
Kirby
Captain Falcon
Luigi

I dunno how that kinda happened... Peach is excellent at edge guarding, IC's for pure chaos, Kirby is my old favourite, Captian Falcon for speed and power, and Luigi just because he is the best all round character imo....

I like the challenge of having totally random matchs... Thats what I do mainly on Melee now :D

Yeah, and they tend to learn the people the excel at, and just know generally how to fight with the rest. I think it's good that it would be hard to know how to use all characters perfectly, but instead having a general adaptable fighting style. Of course, they would need to remember FS type moves, as not to waste them.

Ice Climbers are fun! I seem to remember being slightly good with them. xP

Unfortunatly, Melee's memory mode isnt like that... I kinda want them to fix that in Brawl.

For example, in Melee, I play as Luigi quite a lot... But so do some other people. Therefore, my own stats are similar to Luigi's but not the same... I dont know if this will make sense... You cant track who used what character the most very well (or what they did with them)

In Brawl, I'd quite like to be able to have breakdowns of all the players names, who they played as, what they did as said player etc... And the same for the characters themselves, so which human played as them the most, won the most matchs as them etc...

That way, you could ask someone who their favourite player is (Lets say Luigi), but it might not be their best... As they could look and go "Oh, i have a better KPD with Peach than Luigi, I'm better with her overall, but prefer Luigi to play as"

If that were the case, I'd be able to look on my data and go "Oh yeah, you were pretty good with them" or "Nah u sucked :P"

XD That doesnt really make sense... It does in my head though!

A fully featured stat breakdown would be excellent, especially if you could view your friends stats over Wi-Fi, creating a nice competition without actually having to fight. Breakdown per person and per character, like you suggest, would be ideal for this.

Ah... what a way to round of todays no news day...

http://www.youtube.com/user/queensaki

Some new videos coming out of Japan of the Brawl demo boxes... cheeky gits XD

King Dedede does look excellent, and Kirby has another Dash A move that is different to all the others hes had... In the original is was a simple head bash dive, in melee it was the rush Fireball, and in Brawl he seems to do some crazy breakdancing and does a quadruple kick whilst on his head!

I just watched the first vid, Poke Trainer vs Link. To me it looks slightly slower and less frentic than Melee? Or is this just because I'm used to 4 player battles?

Also, nice demonstration of the Dragoon and Poke Trainer's FS. I also noticed the Smash ball moves around randomly, which should make it fairer to get (I thought it behaved like a normal item before).

Yeah, 2 player matchs tend to much slower... in a 4 way match, I have no doubt itll be just as frantic as on Melee, if not more hopefully!

It was pretty lucky with the Dragoon too, looks extremely good... The Smash ball has a mechanic set all to its own... Randomly appearing and ever moving, should make it very difficult to get with heavier characters....

Makes it harder to reach with the heavier characters, maybe, but aren't they more effective at pushing others away and staying on course themselves?

Are the demo machines things they put in shops for people to try them? I somehow doubt they'll do that over here, unfortunately, there are very few demo stands here anymore, most of them just show the console and play videos.

Both Game and Gamestation have them.... Game has a 360 one, and GameStation has a 360 and a PS3 one... You'd think theyd want to jump on the bandwagon for Brawl... It is this years MUST HAVE game....

Todays update was more exploration of the 1 Player modes... This was about the Vault. The Vault contains essentially everything you've done on the game. All the stickers, trophies, replays, Masterpeices, the Stage Builder and so on. Looks like a very interesting place to show off how good you are!

Jeff (Mother 2, EarthBound, Skillers knows who I mean) has also been "accidentally" confirmed as an AT. Also, some guy called "Geno" has been seen... Ive read his name hundreds of times, but Ive never heard of him...

More videos are on http://www.brawlcentral.com

R.O.B. is the biggest shock for me here, off the top of my head, I can't think of anyway he can possibly work very well... at all.... He made a cameo in MarioKart DS, in which he was a heavyweight, so I would assume he is again. WW Link is the other shock... I can't see how his graphical style will look right in Brawl... I mean, its supposed to look vaquely realistic (Other than the fact people fight in overalls/dresses etc). WW Link won't look right in his cartoony style...

So there we go... The waiting is over... Until I know for sure that this is the true lineup, I won't mention anything else about it.

Todays update was a rather large list of music that is available from initial play. Most of the normal stuff is there...

I was expecting a few more characters, TBH.

Spoiler for blarg:
We haven't seen Yoshi yet, have we? Or am I just forgetting?

Also, Is ROB the only newcomer we haven't seen yet? (Well technically we have - he's one of the adventure enemies)

Spoiler for blah:
OK, I did just forget about Yoshi then xP

Hmm, those videos show a lot of stills. The last one has atleast 3 different character select screens, so I would say there's a fair few fake images in those...
