Poke Floats rocked! It was such a surreal stage! XD

How can u say Icicle Mountain was good? ZOMG I DIED BECAUSE SOMONE JUMPED! It sucked... End of XD

The only other that I found frustrating is Big Blue  The one with the F Zero racers going with u around the stage and the Falcon's Ship is the main platform...

Ah, so All Star was pretty hard then!

Is Icicle mountain the stage that kept falling?

Ah, OK, but I doubt they'll include 2 so closely themed. I bet loads of people will just remake their favourite levels, though.

They won't need to if all previous stages are included....

Kirby's N64 stage returned in Melee, and had a very similar stage in Melee form... And now we also have the Halberd stage, and I wouldnt be surprised to see a King Dedede stage too...

In all fiarness, this time round, every character NEEDS its own level. One where they can truly say its theirs... Luigi's Mansion, The castle top for Peach etc...But for all of them, and some other cool random ones too!

I can says its good beacuse that is my opinion. It was hard but that added a challenge to the stage. Also about your repetitive comment its supposed to be like that! I can say the poke float stage is repetitive because once its fin it goes back and does it again same with rainbow boat one, and hang on arent MOST of the new stages like this????? Do you actaully like ANY of the stages on this game?????

Right back on topic:
Green hill zone for a sonic stage??? that would be awesome!

Here we go.... "Oh its my opinion" ¬¬ That's not the point...

Icicle Mountain was boring... It was simply a pitiful attempt at making an interesting stage. It failed miserably in that respect, now the new IC one looks awesome! I don't want to have to fight the stage as well as fighting other people... Its WAY to difficult. Hence why stages like Kirby N64 and Final Destination are the best ones. Simple, flat (ish) and easy to fight on... I dont want to have to move purposely just to stay on the screen...

Most of the new stages are stationary in their camera angles. I prefer that way of playing... Having the stage move is sometimes fun (Like the Poke Floats) and sometimes shit (Icicle Mountain) It just suits some stages better. IMO there should only be stationary stages....

And Green Hill or Egg Fortress Zones would make awesome stages...

Heh, irony.

I think every character having their own stage would be a pretty good idea, especially if that character has a slight, but not major, advantage on that stage, somehow.

Well... Another boring update today... Friend codes and Lists...

Image

Im pretty sure people who own Mario Strikers know the drill by now... But Brawl also recognises people you already have on your Wii friends list. And can use that to populate a match.

Image

Basically, it's as easy as possible to set up a match with your friends. And as Sakurai says, "Simple is best"... Because it works with minimal fuss and bother :)

Hmm, do you have links to some of those videos, Ash? I'd be interested to see them, especially the FS ones.

Where was the Zelda FS? :? I didn't think she'd even been in an videos either :/

Climbing ladders and crawling are under Techniques on the website too... Swimming I didn't know about though. Hmmm I can't find the update now... But weve seen Mario climbing a ladder in one of the stages.

Today was another typical update...

Returning Pokemon. Snorlax and Staryu (With Electrode in another update) are now veteran Pokeball pokemon, having been in all 3 games. The Johto Pokemon have been in since Melee... Wobbuffet, Togepi, Bellossom, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia and Ho Oh return aswell. We've seen Hoenn starters and Pokemon, but not a lot from 4th gen yet...

Mew and Celebi also make appearences... Will Jirachi also be in? In a similar vein? Mew and Celebi also leave presents on the stage. In this image, its a CD...

Image

Most of the pokemon are now using their updated PBR models... Ho Oh looks particularly good:

Image

Will the Regi's and the Psychic trio also line up with the Birds and Dogs? There are so many options with the pokemon that we don't really know what might be in or out...

WE ARE DESPERATLY IN NEED OF A NEW CHARACTER!

Well, wednesday's update was anothe rboring bit of information on the Smash Ball...

It basically told of the battle for the Smash Ball.

Image

Mario's Final Smash can be easily dodged if you are aware enough! Most of this update was explaining how to get into a profitable position to use the smash ball...

Image

Unless you get chased down and attacked whilst in the stand by phase of the FS animation! You may loose the smash ball to whoever attacks you. So? Will you run and dodge? Or go for the kill and fire off your own Final Smash? Either way, whoever is in last place at a certain time gets what is called a "Pity Final Smash"... Essentially it gives the last player an automatic Smash ball... How this is activated we don't know. But if you are in last by that much, it might not make that much difference!

Image
A "Pity FS" will have you glowing as soon as you spawn...

Also there was some music from a Japan only game, called X. It was only released over there on the GameBoy...

Today was King Dedede's Final Smash, the WADDLE DEE ARMY!

Image

King Dedede summons his minions to attack! (I freakishly guessed his FS would have something to do with Waddle Dee's a few days ago with my friends).

Image

You cant see from the images (because they are images obviously), but the Waddle Dee's he summons are much better and faster than the ones he summons using his B special move. If that wasnt bad enough, Gordo's get thrown in for good measure!

FINALLY!! a remotely intersting update! looks ok, dont really think DEDEDE fits in with the game but nice addition. again this is one where you have to be in the right postion to get maximum destruction out of it.

Heh, that one looks pretty fun. Where do the Waddle Dees come from, though? If they just appear all over the place it would be chaos!

It doesn't really say... Which is a shame.. I guess they just run all over the stage

Yesterday was more information on Wifi battling with anyone. Quick simple and easy.

Image

A rather bare chracter selection screen is one of the very first things you see. The whole process its basically broken down into # steps...

1. You connect to Nintendo Wifi
2. Select "Battle with anyone"
3. CHoose the mode you wish to play in
4. Chracter selection
5. Stage selection
6. Fight!

Pretty easy if you ask me... The stage selection is done in the same way as MarioKart DS. Each player votes for a particular stage. Whichever stage gets the most votes (or a random choice of stages if they have the same amount of votes) is the one to be played on.

Image

Then while you are wating for everyone to get ready, you can have a bit of a knock about with the sandbag! Practise some moves, keep your fingers limber i guess :P

SSBB Website wrote:
And there is one more important thing...

When you have a battle mode that runs online like Basic Brawl, the problem of what to do with hidden characters arises. If one of your opponents chooses a character you haven’t unlocked yet, it will be spoiled for you immediately.

But even without this mode, given the proliferation of the Internet these days, the existence of hidden characters is going to get exposed anyway.

So, this time I’m moving in the direction of not being too hung up on hidden characters.

An interesting addition, and rightly said. Any hidden chracters are going to be known about within a week of the japanese release date. I can guarantee by the time America gets it we will know every single stage, character, music score and anything else Sakurai hasnt mentioned yet...

On another note, NoE have apparently taken the ridiculous decision to try and delay Brawl in europe until Q3 (!) next year! Nintendo really need to prioritise better. They make the most money out of europe, so we should get stuff earlier! They then went against what they said, and say they may move it to Q2... Purely because of the uproar it caused in the european gaming circles. Since the Wii was launched, we've only gotten one major game first, Mario Strikers Charged Football... And that's purely because football is more popular in europe than anywhere else....

Hmm, that character select screen doesn't even have all the currently announced characters on it, it's missing Kirby and Snake for starters, and probably a lot more. I'm guessing they've done that deliberately to keep some other characters secret.

Not to intentionally be nitpicking, but should DHRs quote say SSBM? Surely thats a typo

Your a mod, just freaking change it.... :/

Indeed Skillers, I seriously doubt there would only be 25 chracters in the game. Melee had 25, but some of the stalwards of SSB haven't been announced, most notabley Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff and Luigi.

Lets see, from the original (And thus Melee), JigglyPuff, Luigi and Captain Falcon havent been released (There is also Ness, but hes more likely to be a colour swap). The other 8 characters from the original have been confirmed (Mario, Link, Samus, Fox, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Pikachu and Yoshi).

From Melee we had an additional set, other than the 12 mentioned, only 4 of those fighters have been anounced (Peach, Bowser, Zelda and the Ice Climbers). There is still a rathr lot of Melee characters not here...

Doctor Mario (Colour Swap)
Ganondorf (Really should be there with an all new TP moveset)
Falco (Unlikely, but a possible Fox colour swap)
Young Link (Very likely to be dropped)
Pichu (We are pretty sure hes already gone... Pikachu now wears his goggles as a colour swap)
Mewtwo (Possibility is there, he certainly had a unique moveset... The only down side was a non rotational down smash)
Mr Game And Watch (Very unique, has to return imo)
Marth (More likely than Roy to return, even though Ike has taken spac in the Fire Emblem roster)
Roy (If Marth is in, Roy is out... Ike is more of a replacement for Roy than Marth...unilikely to return)

We could very easily have a roster of 35+ characters....

Well I'd imagine Luigi would return, seeing as he's a main character and all (this technically being a Mario Brothers game). I'd quite like to see a large cast of characters, aslong as they have a good variation of moves and characteristics.

I wish people would stop saying its a Mario Brothers game... when its not... It's a Nintendo All Star game to be honest... Kinda like... uhhh, well nothing tbh...:|

Today was another normal update, the Pokemon, Bonsly

Image

Bonsly is currently the only Pokemon that we can pick up and move on our own. He's pretty heavy, so small people like Little DK above will have trouble moving him, but i would of thought Big DK and Bowser should be Ok in picking him up.

Image

You pretty much just hurl him at someone who is reasonably close to you, to try and knock them for 6. He does a huge amount of Knock back, and if anyone is nearly close to 60-80% its almost a guaranteed KO. However, it CAN be reflected by Fox's Mirror....
