How bad is that comp?

lol its 5years in age, but the internet processer thing is really bad. So its slow. I got Sky broad band, its acutally very fast on a good comp. Its just this silly one =( dont work.

Internet processor? There's no such thing :/ unless you mean modem, which should be the same for both comps unless you're using dial up for some reason, or a rubbish LAN adaptor...

Gameplay? You need games for gameplay, really. The PS3 is technically superior, but nearly completely unsupported by games. The 360 has a wide range of very good games available for it.

True, but developers aren't keen to develop for the PS3, either, due to it's completely new codepath, I believe. The 360 is grounded firmly in the realms of standard computing codepaths, which gets a lot more support. The 360 had better release titles, aswell, AFAIK, Heavenly-Swords is one of the few games out for the PS3, and I've heard it's not that good (plus the advert is incredibly pretentious).

Right i have to perwade my mind to get a 360. Your right Mark the 360 would be a better choice but how much altogether would i cost??? thats including cable link to your comp.

With a few games and accessories you'll probably be looking at a bit over £300 for the elite, possibly up to £400, I would suggest you shop around for the package deals on this one.

The Elite is £299.99....another £60 for wireless internet and about another £30-40 for a game...Im going to try and get mine with Orange box tbh

And Demonata, he's looking at the current gen of consoles, PS2 would be last gen. The Wii is quite enjoyable and you should enjoy it.

Eh hem...You seem to forget I'm the one who got ur Headphones for like £5 less than u got the same ones for Currently Amazon does look the cheapest, and the cheapest wireless unit is like £60....

£15, but I got them ages before you and from Amazon, and those deals you found weren't available then.

Anyway, the shopping around I meant was for deal packages, and I only said that cos you seem to think you can't get it in the £300-400 range. As for that wireless adapter, like all the branded stuff, that's ridiculously expensive for what it actually is, you could probably just use a cheap computer wireless bridge (or access point) or USB adaptor. I can almost guarantee that an access point (costing around £30) would work, seeing as it is designed to simple create wired access from a wireless signal, and the 360 does have an ethernet port, AFAIK. If you're up to a bit of a challenge, you could try running a router as an access point and run computers off it aswell (they have more than one ethernet, unlike the access points).

DHR, get a network crossover cable for like a fiver, and even cheaper wireless, use ur laptop to bridge it

WTF is "bridging"? You'd have to spend a while sorting that out with me, but it does seem like the easiest way tbh...My laptop is always on pretty much....

Simply put you tell your laptop that it is hosting on the ethernet port, meaning anything plugged into there will use it to access the internet. This does, however, mean your laptop needs to be on to allow the 360 to get online. You can also buy small units that do the same thing for about £30.

Yeah, but some people might like to leave their 360 on to download demos during the day, which you wouldn't be able to do as your laptop wouldn't be there, lol. Didn't know if you would be one of those people.
