I have to do online web quizzes at uni using vista, and we have been told that we have to use IE as other browsers upset the system, the lecturer uses some really obscure browser system normally that I'd never heard of before and can't now remember and he said that that made it go funny. Why would that be? I normally use Mozilla Firefox and don't like internet explorer, but could use it. However on my friends computer using IE crashes the computer so she has to use a different browser, so won't be able to do the quizzes on her own computer.

Vista? That's the Windows OS, are you sure?

The quizes may use activeX, which only IE has (it's a M$ technology).

Well the webpage is vista.shef.ac.uk though you won't be able to access further than that because you need a login name. They used to use WebCT and that worked fine on FireFox.

Have you actually just tried using FireFox?

The thing will open in FireFox, there are no quizzes to do yet, but we were told it goes wrong during the quizzes and I'm not sure I want to rixk it as the quiz marks count towards our module score.
