Ok people.

I have had this idea for the past few days and i am going to make it happen. Here, i would like (in your won opinion), the best 20 games ever.

Every person posts there Top 20 and then i will count up the figures and see which game has the most/highest numbers. I will then make the list of the top 50 games fom this. I need atleast 5 people to put there games up, so if anyone at all is interested pleas put ur favourites down.

If i declare someone being Fanboyistic (IE, all are nintendo games, PS games PC games) i will determine which games to chop off there list.

This is to get a decent representation of what people think are the top 50 games in existqance in order.

Please post ike this

Quote:
20: Worms (PC)
Reason: Coz its awesome!!!! (make it good though XD)
19: Frogger (GB)
Reason: Coz i completed it!

And so on and so forth until u reach ur favoutie or best game.

Please take this serioulsy.

Thank you and get naming!

20: GT4 (PS2)
Reason: The greatest racing sim there is, it wont be rivalled until GT5 appears. So many cars, tracks and races to be done...It lasts almost forever

19: Transport Tycoon (PC)
Reason: The original Tycoon game, it set the standard for its time. The graphics are poor (but have much character) but the gameplay and intuitive controls are easy for anyone to master

18: Command And Conquer: Tiberian Sun (PC)
Reason: One of my favourite war-like games, it has a very easy interface and was all i played on for about 3 months when i was younger!

17: Colin McRea Rally (PC/PSOne)
Reason: The oiginal rally game, it looked gorgeous on a high spec machine for the time. I completed this with the help of a wheel, and am still playing it to this day, nearly 7 years after its release

16: Worms (PC)
Reason: One of the most fun and pointless games there was, but nothing could be the idiotic AI. It was either bang on, or commiting suicide. Absolutly Brilliant game

15: Conkers Bad Fur Day (N64)
Reason: I actuall wet myself the first time i played this is was so funny. Very crude, but very well written and well recieved. If u can find a copy to buy, get it!

14: Star Wars: Tie Fighter (PC)
Reason: Ok, its old, but when u see the graphics of the game (tho not good, stunning for the time) you will fall in love with it. Takes an eon to finish, and som of the fights are hrd as nails, but with a joystick, it can be easier

13: Ledgend Of Zelda: Links Awakening (GB)
Reason: The very first game i owned on the GameBoy, it took me AAAAAAAAGES to complete, and i only dd that qith the help of one of my mates...The story was wondful and could immmerse you for hours.....

12: Mario Kart DS (DS)
Reason: The frst racong gme i owned on my DS, and its really good. With erfect controls and easy to learn tracks its a very good game. With the addition of WiFi and being able to race people form all over the planet, it was close to top ten, but not close enough.

11: Settlers 3
Reason: My most favouite War like game ever, to me almost perfect. Lasts forever and never gets boring!

(My top ten is coming later....)

DOUBLES ARE ALLOWED! THATS KINDA THE POINT!

Right, time for me to do this.... I'll do games as series of games, as I tend to like entire series' the same. Also, this list probably isn't fully accurate!

So let the listing begin!

20. River Raid - Classic Atari at it's best! Fly your little white plane down a river destroying everything on your way! (I don't think the name is correct, though... I can't remember it, haven't played for ages).

19. Pro Evolution Soccer (4) - For some reason I really liked this... LOL!

18. Mario Kart (GC and DS versions) - Multiplayer is great fun!

17. Metroid Prime Hunters (DS) - Great use of a touch screen! Only good FPS on a handheld, heck, even console! (I hate console controllers for FPS... too inaccurate)

16. Super Smash Brothers Melee - Great party fun!

15. Worms - CLASSIC!

14. Colin McRae (04) - For the multiplayer memories! xP

13. Pokemon (GB) - Old classic, used to love it, still play it a lot. The rest of the merchandise is cr*p, though...

12. Black and White - God gaming at it's finest.

11. Advance Wars - Great handheld RTS.

10. Battlefield - Another great multiplayer FPS.

09. Total War - Great RTS game, just for the scale. Rome is my favourite.

08. Grand Theft Auto - CARNAGE!

07. Command and Conquer - Modern era based RTS at it's very best! I like Generals a lot, even though not many do... Tiberium Wars is set to pwn everything!

06. Roller Coaster Tycoon - Another classic Tycoon. Damn addictive, Preferred the 1st.

05. Unreal Tournament (04) - Uber frag fest FTW!

04. Counter Strike (Source) - Great online FPS. Very sophistic.

03. Transport Tycoon - Classic, addictive, simple, complex. Brilliant!

02. X series (X3:Reunion) - Got addicted on these for ages - great space sim, very deep gameplay; combat, trade, management and vast amounts of space for your uber empire... all you need!

01. HALF LIFE - No explanation needed! (HL2 is amazing, Ep1 is better, but short...)

Happy now, StarBucks?

EDIT:
Dammit, some game I missed off that I want to mention anyway, but don't need to be in my list;
Dune 2 - first RTS ever, PWNAGE! (Could be sorta classed as C&C, same people)
Call of Duty - great FPS, though I have plenty of those! xP
Doom/Quake - First noted FPSes
Settlers - Dammit, how could I forget this?!?!
OK, no real other serious ones. Just as a note - If I'd have remembered Settlers, it would be top 10, as would Dune 2, ah well, wouldn't make much difference...

Yes i am Grim

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (N64)
Reason: The greatest N64 release, it over shadowed everything from Sony as soon as it was released. Easy and good controls made the game easy to get used to. And made people even like me (I don?t like the Zelda series so much) want to play it more. Even though the massive glitch that prevented you from seeing the game complete screen (It got stuck on the Ganandorf level for many times before it allowed you to see it) did take away form the games experience, getting there was tough enough. With a good story and some epic battles, this was the king game for the N64.

Soul Caliber 2 (Various)
Reason: The first game to really branch out to each different console. It each had a hero form the consoles companies games. The Gamecube had Link, PS2, the dude form Tekken and Xbox, Spawn. This greatly improved its selling ability. Soul Caliber had a truly engrossing story line and won over many critics for its smooth game play and graphics. Weapons for each character could be collected or bought, with some being advantageous or not so?Some of swords for instance for Link, they can increase health at the loss of power, but then u get one that decreases health for more power. It was a standard beat-em-up game that contained an incredible story

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Sega Mega Drive)
Reason: The best game on the Sega Mega Drive, had the best story and game play. Much improved on the original with new maps (or acts), new enemies and new bosses form Robotnic. Indeed, for the end of every level, he was waiting with a new machine. These are easy to defeat in 2 player mode. As Tails goes in wipes him out while Sonic simply avoids trouble. The last few levels get as tough as nails, as I found out. The final boss is absolutely almost impossible to defeat, and it took me 4 lives to even work out where to hurt him! Totally engrossing, the only failure is that you ha to play the whole game at once as there was no save function?

Half Life (PC)
Reason: After one of my mates persuaded me to try it, I fell in love with it. The story line is immense and the game play is just as good. Easy and intuitive controls made sure this stayed one of my favourite games to this day. Starting off with just a simple crowbar, aliens are encountered and you go from a Physicist to an alien killer in moments. With help from scientists and security guards, you must battle through many hazardous terrains. Still, for me, the scariest game I have ever played (Halo comes a close second), it does literally make u want to scream sometimes! Perfect scenery and adequate scary moments make this game awesome.

Metal Gear Solid (PSOne)
Reason: The first 3rd person shooter I had ever played, it engrossed me for days. An extremely interactive game (some parts involved u looking for things on the CD case or changing controller ports) it kept u interested all the way through. Though the controls are tough to learn, when mastered are almost second nature. Crawling, shooting, bombing, learning and being stealthy are the games prime directives. Good graphics and a truly very well written story made this one hell of a game. And it was scary!

Halo (PC)
Reason: Only recently discovered, but it is simply brilliant. After HL set the standard for FPS?s to aspire to, this certainly adds to it. Good controls (in fact identical to HL) make it easy to learn. Halo?s scenery is good and the graphics are also stunning. Its brilliant story line and fantastic enemies and worlds can and will keep you entertained for hours. With the addition of the online mode, fighting with your friends is very good and proves who is top dog! With scary moments throughout, and a excellent final level this game deserves a top ten ranking.

Pokemon (GB)
Reason: What can I say? Well it is still running. We are now up to an incredible 494 monsters and more are probably in production. It set the standard for the new ?Monster Raising? type game, as Digimon and Monster Rancher both tried to get in on the act. However, they were no where near as good as Pokemon. With easy controls and a very simple storyline, it did keep people entertained for an age (My Gold game had over 300 hours on it, all 251 caught). Better still, people still enjoy it. I can guarantee that the latest incarnations, Diamond and Pearl, will also sell well and continue the trend.

Half Life 2 (PC)
Reason: Well it has to be really. The original game came back for more in its second instalment. Scarier and moodier, it is truly wonderful to play. Sections to make you want to crap your pants as it were, but there is now more effort put into scaring the player than there was. More puzzles and intriguing maps are also new and the graphics for all the maps is stunning. I have never seen better water graphics on a game. Getting to drive a boat and a buggy, killing aliens and having to use cranes and guns to fight off the main enemy. Almost 1984-esque pressure is put on the player to not make a mistake in the early part of the game. But it undoubtedly gets better as the game goes on

Super Smash Brothers Melee (GC)
Reason: Well either of them had to be in?Still the best selling game for the Gamecube; it has had so many reviews as a top game. Soon to be a classic, it already has the signs of greatness. Based on the popular Super Smash Brothers game on the N64, it included 13 new characters and all of the old ones. New missions, events, trophies and opponents appeared of varying difficulty. With 51 event matches, 25 different characters to use and learn, and almost unlimited amounts of multiplayer fun, the game is almost perfect. The 4 controller ports on the GC are used well and in a good match amongst friends, almost anything can and will happen. Bags of fun and very cue graphics make this one a winner.

Roller Coaster Tycoon
Reason: So why have I chosen this as my greatest game ever? Because it is brilliant. Made almost exclusively by Chris Sawyer (he did TT as well), he made the best business tycoon ever created to this day. Not even its sequel could compare. Starting with just 6 missions (out of 50) you had to complete the parks to unlock more. This was the main advantage over RCT2 (where all the parks were open form the start). Near the end of the game, it became harder and harder to complete the varying scenarios and challenges. My particular favourite was Dynamite Dunes. An early map (second on the list), it was barrels of fun to do and gave ideas for new coasters thanks to the pre-built ?Dynamite Blaster?. Other good parks were near the end, with one where vandalism and rubbish was everywhere, and a huge rock coming out of the ground. The reward for all the scenarios being complete? The Mega Park. A place where u could simply go wild and make whatever you liked. With the addition of Corkscrew Follies (Or Added Attractions) and Loopy Landscapes the game took an age to complete. The interface is easy to use and navigate, and there are good Easter eggs hidden in the game. By far the game I most wanted for a long time, it deserves to be a number one. The greatest game ever.

I will be posting results tomorrow...

1. EverQuest II (PC)
It's so limitless, so gorgeous looking, and it runs so sweet on my computer

2. Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 (DC)
The finest online console RPG ever made. It was free to play online, and offered huge improvements over the original Phantasy Star Online; it's just a shame that it got hacked to bits.

3. Shenmue (DC)
A great RPG/Action game like no other even to this day. The storyline was intense and the gameplay was unique and addictive.

4. Final Fantasy 7 (PS)
Because at its time, it was huge! Stuffed full of stuff, with a great storyline. This game was (for the majority of people) an introduction to the Final Fantasy series and universe.

5. Unreal Tournament 2004 (PC)
A first class first person shooter.

6. Half Life 2 (PC)
A first person shooter that is fast paced and extremely customisable!

7. Resident Evil (PS)
When it came out on the Playstation, it was the first game of its kind. This game started the survival-horror genre of computer gaming and it's been great!

8. Grand Theft Auto (PS/PC)
Again, one of the first of its kind. Nobody could dream of getting 20 police cars all together and blowing them up with a rocket launcher, then ploughing down the army with a machine gun, then running away in a tank and blowing everything to shit...

9. The Sims 2 (PC)
Come on this game is addictive!!!

10. Black & White (PC)
"Please rescue my sick brother, he has gone astray and I fear that he may die! If you help me, I will give you the gate stone.. it is in my house!"... well, you could trash the house and grab it, or you could kill the brother then trash the house, or if you're super evil, you could kill the brother, drop the dead body by the sister, the sister will die of shock, then trash the house, kill all the children then grab the gate stone. Come on, that's fun!

Can't think of too many more Neutral

Oh, so u do it now....Laughing

Well overall....even including the latest results, Half Life series came out with a resounding top spot. Narrowly beating Halo down to second overall the submissions. Other noteable games came in with Roller Coaster Tycoon and Worms being near the top. Counter Strike Source came in on its own merits, tho i counted its score towards the Half Life cause.

I suggest you read...

I know he made an excel spreadsheet with the info on before, which gave him the results. I don't think he updated it, so he's had to estimate the winner (though HL was completely pwning).

Anyway, interesting results, just the winner I wanted! xP

These are my top 10 favourite games, no real order, may change it at some point

Pokemon
My reason, well it revolves round one of the greatest marketing schemes ever. You get the full ride, and was one of the first things to do it. Its still selling today

Worms united
Grew up on this, loved it

Worms 3
Me and my brother waited for ages, finally got it, played it all the time, even though it crashed the computer often

Halo
Good story in the campaign and kept you going even through copy and paste, awsome multiplayer

Halo 2
Not quite as good campaign, but still kept you going, multiplayer even better

Halo 3
The beta is great alone, so the game will have to be better

Pacman
Classic fun

Sonic Advance
My first gameboy advance game

Gears of war
Gore

Unreal Series
Gore is fun

I think there should be a rule about games that haven't been truly released yet. Betas do not necessarily represent the final product.
