I just wanted the rest to know that over the weekend a tradgedy has happened to the WRC. Micheal Park, Markko Martins Co-Driver, was killed when thier peugeot 307 hit a tree about four miles into the 15th stage. My condolences are with j#his family and friends.

The car hit a tree on Micheal Park's side. Killing him instantly. Peugeot immediatly withdrew Marcus Gronholm, leaving Loeb to win the title. He purposely incurred a two minute time penalty to avoid taking the World Title in such tragic circumstances. Thus Petter Solberg reluctantly won the event. It is a dark time for Rallying.

I am glad to see the others in the event respected him and withdrew or tried not, so not to celebrate.

A minutes silence was observed at the end of the rally instead of the victory celebrations and the fianl three stages were cancelled in respect.

[size=24:995909dc32]Sebastian Loeb[/size:995909dc32] has won the WRC Ttile in Japan at the weekend. He now has an insurmountable number of points to go to the final three rallies.

Richard Burns had died in hospital after dying from his brain tumor he was diagnosed with travelling to the RAC rally GB in 2001. He became the first Englsih WRC champion at the aage of 31. He died last night on the 4th anniversary of his championship win. 2001 World Champion. RIP.

How depressing has this topic been man? On a lighter tone, the Paris-Dakar rally is coming up at the end of december. This involves Trucks, Cars and motorcycles going from portugal (insult to the name) to Dakar, senegal. The trucks and bikes have been limited to 150KPH (around 98MPH) becasue of the dangers associated with the event.

The Mini or the original Audi Quattro are the best rally cars of all. Maybe the Lancia Intergrale or Stratos! There are so many!

I don't know, he knows pretty much everything that happens in motorsport pretty quickly.

I knew because i have many contacts (and freeview red button, 360). I am glad Top Gear atleast did something for Burns. In New Zealand they did a half hour programme on Micheal Park. Nothing was even mentioned in the UK press. It just shows how motorsport is overshadowed by football. Since when have they been risking their lives for winning a great trophy like the WRC or F1????

Motorsport is a real sport. People may say that they do not test themselves physically, but they do. Infact, they do more so than those Footballer ponces, stupid overpaid prats.

Great race exept for the three fatalitites, two spectators (children) and the motorcyclist, Andy Coldecott who was lyng 7th when he suffered a huge accident and he died form a broken spine.

Monte Carlo and Swedish rallies were won by Marcus Gronholm, with Loeb coming second in both. This means the championship can still go many ways. The third big gun hasnt even scored a point in his Subaru. Petter Solberg crashed out of monte and broke his gear box in sweden. More news soon.

Omg how did I miss this thread :shock: I absaloulty love rallying and I spectate at them for years now, Im going to my 27th rally in a few weeks! I film rallies with camcorder and my dad takes pics, I take pics too often too, Ill have to post some of my shots :)

Starbucks did you actually see the beef parks car aftermath video? where it shows an onboard view of the car driving up to the beef park car, and u see marrko with his hands on his head as if "oh s**t" very gloomy vid :(

I didnt see it. I dont want to. His wife lives up near were we live and they have now moved. I dont no where to.


On another note, whoever set this years calender is a fool. It has now been [b:e687d0fc1c]9[/b:e687d0fc1c] weeks sionce the last rally action. If it hasnt dropped off everyones calender, ill be happy. I cant even remember who won the last rally! It was so long ago. I believe however that Loeb is still leading the championship and is heading for his third consecutive championship win. More news soon
