Only if you do something stupid. I don't think its illegal to be drunk itself on the street, only what you do and then blame on drink. |

I think if you're drunk and disrupting the peace and are clearly quite wasted as you stagger down the street, you can be arrested for being 'drunk and disorderly'. It's down to police discretion really. |

What Metty said. Being drunk is fine, being loud and staggering around the place getting in peoples faces isn't. It's not a huge charge, though, small fine and overnight jail, I think. If you do something more serious while drunk, though, it will probably make the charges worse. |

also if they believe you could cause harm to your self or another person, i believe they have the right to hold you in the cells for a night with no criminal record. as in you dont get one.... meh i know what i mean |
