Resolution becomes an issue later on in the game, when you have loads and loads of spells, and not enough room on your screen for hotbars!
In EverQuest 2, you can open up as many hotbars as you like, so long as you can still play the game amidst the mess...
I have recently downgraded from 2560x1600 to 1024x768 temporarily, and it has made things very difficult.
I used to have 10 hotbars, but I have had to find a way to condense these. 10 hotbars took up the whole of my screen and then some. On the 2560x1600, I had the bars beside each other, with the chat box, with the mini map, and loads of room for opening the quest journal and full size map.

It's still pretty cluttered, but it's playable.
only get your best spells/upgrades out, maybe for go the res's....... you can maybe make do with one? and the shapeshift, use one and stik to it...... turn off the ping thing, get rid of your bag of usable charms i never use charms.......but i still do sorta ok.....
