http://tf2.com/post.php?id=5170&p=1 Valve are aiding the relief effort in Japan by putting up some stuff in the store. 3 hats, one of which costs $99.99, are on there to help support Japan. I don't really know if this is a good idea or not  Whilst you may get some very generous people, I think it's the wrong way to go about it

I don't know, seems pretty reasonable to me. Noone is getting hurt or anything and this may encourage people to donate who normally wouldn't. |

How is it the wrong way? Valve are not taking royalties from it, and in my opinion it's an excellent way to raise money for the relief effort. People are going to buy the hats, whether to aid Japan or maybe just because they want the hats, but the important thing is that every purchase helps the cause regardless. |

An impressive figure to be fair. It appears hats-for-charity works. Now if only they'd sell Golden Wrenches for $200 for Charity... *evil grin* |
