Owner of Wrench 31 is going to destroy his Golden Wrench on the 31st of August for the Childs Play Charity, which helps ill and underprivileged children have toys and stuff to help make their lives easier and more fun. He has gotten some of the other Wrench owners to destroy theirs as well, I believe he has already raised something in the value of $3000 dollars.

I think Si or Kyhas found this yesterday and I'm surprised no one posted it So here it is :) I think it's a really good thing to do tbh :)

I noticed it ages ago. It's a good gesture he's doing, but I'm not sure if the other golden wrench owners will be as noble as he is. VALVe will probably reward his generosity too.

They've got 4 people who are going to destroy their wrenches. They may get more, but they're not claiming they will.

I've never really liked childs play, the money raised could potentially save peoples lives ect, instead of having some sick kid from a wealthy nation being given an xbox 360.

They don't give to the children, they give to children's hospitals. They also support research (I believe they have Amazon wishlists for each hospital, which allows people to buy games etc for them, then donated money goes to research and facility improvements, the giving games part helps distinguish them from other charities and helps build the support of gamers).

Sure, it's not the best thing to do with that money, but it's not a bad cause. TBH a lot of the aid charities squander the donations aswell, they simply give food rather than help the people develop and sustain themselves.

Just looked it up, good cause, educating children is definitely one of the ways to help the most in the long run.

Yeh, it's a very good cause. Swansea uni students support it quite well ^^.

I am just going to advertise a bit now because donations may be appreciated in the future xD :p
