I have now create scripts that switch our server from fun to war mode and vice versa. They are completely independent of each other and are total win.

Enjoy!

(I will be instructing admins how to use it when they need it ;) )

Update: Instructions
  1. Open Admin
  2. Select 2, configs, "Start TCHS War"
  3. On Map change, select admin 2, configs, "Start War Mode"
  4. Select 2, configs, "LO3" when you need LO3.

Do the opposite when you need fun, so stop war mode then "Start TCHS Fun"

DO NOT run "Start War Mode" twice, it will lock you out of the admin menu, requiring a server restart.

Depending on the success of this, I may attempt creating a TF2 version of this.

And DHR, I think the people with the power to do this will use sense with it... as they have been trusted with alot more power than the normal ;)

Great work, Si!

And yes, it would be good if you give forewarning about requested war times, just so we know. Seeing as it should be used for clan stuff, there should be posts in CP.

Oh, when its in "War Mode" do the stats track or not?

Author:  Skillers [ Sun Feb 01, 2009 12:18 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

The stats probably do track. The current stats system just reads all the server logs and displays them in nice formats.

Yes stats track regardless of setting. Why would it need to not?

Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

It's not like you can type kpd in game or rank, so stats alter nothing.

Now we can set some good times for some wars :D. Awesomeness <3.

The server may be used for wars at time not stated on the forums, but it won't be done unless the server is empty first (I won't be just chucking people off our servers) - if that's cool with everyone of course.

Wicked Si !

Of course, Wynney, just bare in mind that it would be good to have pre warning for times between 8 and 11pm especially. (Don't plan to use it an assume no-one will be on, especially during those times, randoming is fine aslong as it's empty).

For sure, maybe I can make a thread for when I'm back and times I would appreciate be left open for wars (never more than 2 hours at a time max) so we keep the balance between our regs and people who play wars. I can't foresee any problems.

Btw, I'd like the config Si, cos it sounds awesome! ^^

Erm, completely unrelated to the thread, but anyway;

Hide n seek is a very specialist thing that isn't really suited to us.

Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

hide and seek mode is available on community friday, and is awesome.

It doesn't match. The only thing related is that the game playing it is CSS lol.

Congratulations Si over your recent outstanding release.
When I'm more active, I shall use this mode switcher etc to participate in organised violence on CSS.

Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

But how... I don't think you can run it :/

Author:  Hawke [ Sun Feb 01, 2009 1:21 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

I know I can't activate it: but I shall take advantage of it when someone who CAN is on the server.

Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

btw who are Css server admins?

Author:  Skillers [ Sun Feb 01, 2009 1:46 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Mode Switcher [CSS]

All Gold members and Gozzer have basic admin.

All the Staff, Wynney, McWill and Aaron have full admin.

The Staff, Hellfire, Wynney, McWill and Bombay have the power to start war mode.

I think that's right.
