Post subject:  Reporting Hackers/Abuse

If you experience hackers or abusive behaviour on one of our servers, please report it to us so we can deal with the problem. This applies to everyone who plays on our servers, including clan members and admins, as we take such offensives seriously in Techious.

The correct reporting procedure is PMing myself (Skillers) or Si with the following information;
Name(s) of person/people in question (the game names they were using, doesn't need to be exact if funny characters, just so it's recognisable)
Offense reported for (if hacks, please state which hacks)
Server being played on (TF2 or CSS)
Date and time of the offence (server time - GMT/BST, approx times are alright)
Map being played at the time

Once we have received your report we will download the SourceTV replay and watch over it before casting our decision.

All admins should report any incidents aswell, so that we can cast a final decision on the offence (and hand out permanent bans if necessary).

Thank you

- Skillers and the administration

Another point could be to record the hacker yourself and send it to the admin.. Source TV works aswell but this then makes it easier to then report hackers to valve =]

True, yes, but if you tell us the time we can watch it before you started recording, aswell, and from different angles.

I don't think the angles are really necessary. Especially if its an obvious aimbot which you can usually tell cause alot of them have the person upside down moving at like noclip speeds and getting headshots by shooting and spinning around randomly.

Still if they record and report to valve its then down to an admin to ban from the server itself.

Post subject:  Re: Reporting Hackers/Abuse

Well I think it's generally easier for everyone just to report the person and the time ^^

Also, some people use subtle hacks, like a simple aimbot that you can only confirm if you slow it down (though is noticeable because they get lots of HS very quickly).

If you wish to report to valve, do record your own demo.

VAC doesn't ever catch shit xP

Not once ever seen someone get banned from VAC and ive seen tons of hackers on alot of servers -_-

VAC is slow to ban, but it does catch eventually, and it stops people joining servers (don't think it kicks). I know of a few hackers that had to buy new accounts.

VAC is in my opinion a slow burner. People might be able to get away with hacking for months, and then it will suddenly smite a load of them.

Valve no longer accept demos/reports, as it's too easy to fake.

there is a steamban thing that can be added to a server, this involves hackers that have been proven to be hacking are banned from any server running it, effectively an immediate ban from any server for hacking.

i think the "slow burn" thing is probably so they can get total evidence because the hackers get more comfortable using hacks and then start speedhacking an crap like that.

No need to hack just use DX7 for anti flash and anti smoke 8)

Never actually tried this but aparently works and is completely legal if the server permits your entry with DX7.

Post subject:  Re: Reporting Hackers/Abuse

mat_dxlevel of around 70 causes flashes to flash you for a reduced time (not completely but you won't get flashed as much) and it becomes easier to see through smoke (for those incapable of making observations already).

most servers block you connecting with such a low lever, but some allow it :(

Standing in the middle of smoke for me at the moment turns my whole screen grey o.O

Can see fine slightly out of the center. I might set my comp on DX7 at some point see what its like :P

Will be interesting to see..

LOL DX7...AAAA i cant stand how CSS looks when you use that :P, and most servers will block it especially if they have Zblock

Post subject:  Re: Reporting Hackers/Abuse

Another 'official' thread destroyed by off-topic posts.

Post subject:  Re: Reporting Hackers/Abuse

well tbh, any problems on the server only end up in flaming in another topic anyway, and any hackers are dealt with immediately (always an admin online).

Post subject:  Re: Reporting Hackers/Abuse

TBH, people only need to read the first post, then PM me, the rest of the thread doesn't matter :P

Post subject:  Re: Reporting Hackers/Abuse

or IRC him, or steam chat him :P

seeing as admin has full access to source tv and chat everyone should be wary of their behaviour!

...

except me, cos im awesome.

and that i never do anything wrong.
