Right, why don't we keep all the Steam bargains to one place.

Post weekend deals and any good prices for games you find (ones better than retail - check Play.com and Amazon.co.uk). Discussion of the games concerned is encouraged.

This week (24/01) weekend deel;

75% off Mount and Blade. I have no idea what this game actually is, but I would guess RPG.

Good idea, now I can see when I can get me some good dealios! ^^

Oh, I should also add;

DoW: SoulStorm is currently £4.25 (75% off) it's a good game in itself, but also gets you early access to the rather good DoW2 BETA. Well worth it, both fantastic RTS games, regardless of the fact it's Warhammer (meaning - don't say no just cos you don't like Warhammer, it makes no difference to the gameplay).

the wording of mount of blade in description appeals to me i think reviews shoot it down though... :(

The above deals have ended, this week;

All Rockstar games are 30% off. This includes all the GTA games, Max Payne and a couple of others. Most the games are at a good price, GTA4 is cheaper than it is in shops (Play, Amazon), so may be worth picking up if you are interested, I'm considering it.

I can definitely recommend the older GTA games, and the bundle deals seem a good price.

EDIT:

Also Monster Truck Nitro (a game in the same nature as Trials 2) is half price atm, but, IMO, is too expensive.

maybe not related, but Gmod can cost as little as £1 extra if your buying another game, for example TF2 is £14 on its own, but £15 with gmod.

if you dont have tf2, and are looking to buy it, definately get gmod along with it.

Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

oh, and theres also free source mods, such as age of chivalry, zombie panic source, etc etc.

they pretty much count as seperate games, which are free!

and whats a better deal than something which is free?

Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

Two somethings which are free ;)

Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

well, there's more than two mods that are free :P

so, 10 things that are free!

Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

too much stuff for free = clogged up computer :P

Author:  Teeps [ Thu Feb 05, 2009 1:50 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

clogged up computer = not enough memory

buy an external and you can have more free things :P

and after all, whats better than a pc with a lot of memory, full of free things? :P

Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

Well an external tends to run programs quite slowly from what I'm aware :|

Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

i run most things from my external, including WoW

i tried it on my main HDD but it made no difference, so it sits in my external.

in fact, most of my games are on my external. and movies

External would be a lot slower for me as I am using a stripe array.

5 games = £15 = £3 a game :/

Author:  Skillers [ Fri Feb 06, 2009 6:57 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The Steam Deal Thread

But the overall spend is £15 on games I'm not particulary interested in and are all probably very similar.

This week;

Indie pack with 75% off.

This is a fantastic price;

Eets - Pretty good.
Graviton and I-Fluid I don't have.
Multiwinia is good, though I don't get to play it with many people.
Trials 2 is awesome.

For less than £7, it's a bargain.
