What Si said.

They hack your account, change your password, followed by your secret question so even IF valve gets you your account back, they can hack it again, and valve wont do it two times(I've had it happen to me, got a keylogger somewhere(i have no idea where), they hacked into me, got my account back from valve, got hacked a second time, they didnt want to retrieve it again)

I agree with Metty here... I got confused earlier and ended up Dling somehting called Comaglia... virus inbedded in a WinRar download thats not the right one, only do it form their site, no other ones like fileplanet or whatever, it wont be the right one :)

If a virus gets past my AV software, I format and start again. It's the quickest way.

Im not overly worried, it wasnt something nasty. And to Az, this one is undetectable by Norton/AVG/Avast and any other leading Virus protection....

I guess as long as you're not worried about losing data, or having your bank account details keylogged, or generally being snooped on you should be OK.

Wasn't something nasty? Can anyone even say they know whats hidden in their windows these days (rootkits and stuff). If its not detectable by an AV prog then your royally f*cked.

Post subject:  Re: Steam Phish Attempt

OK, another warning kinda thing, but with a slight different message to it;

"someone by the name of (Ashley Marc James)wants to add you to their list dont accept it. Its a virus. Tell everyone on your list because if somebody on your list adds them you will get it too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus. Please pass this on to everyone on your list. We need to find out who is using this account""

THIS IS NONSENSE, DON'T SPREAD IT

Basically, it is impossible to spread viruses by adding someone as a friend, Steam doesn't even have any file transfers.

It's chainmail the entire purpose is to spread a nonsense message to as many people as possible and possibly cause a panic.
