I believe that by selling good weapons at low prices, it will invite more newbies to the game. I want to see more people playing on the Darathar server because it has quite a low population and I enjoy playing as part of a good group.

Ah, OK, I take it you're still making a profit, though?

No Razz

I have to work extra hard to scrape in extra cash for materials to make weapons, and I am always losing money. It's a good thing it's not real money.

Why aren't you trying to make a profit or even break even?

I think it gives people more of an incentive to play, which is important for EQ2... at least I think so anyway. Money isn't very important to me in the game, it just slows me down a bit when I feel like making higher level weapons that require expensive books to learn from, and expensive materials.

What loss are you making? (cost of materials/sell of weapon)

Well, the materials I need at the moment are...

Carbonite Cluser (harvested for free, but takes a lot of time. Need 3 per weapon)
Belladonna Root (harvested for free, but takes a lot of time. Need 2 per weapon)
Dull Black Coal (bought for 96c each, I need 3 per weapon. Can buy them in bulk at the Broker for a small discount)

I think that's it... So it can cost 288c (2s 88c) to make a weapon. I'll need to check that out though.

Most people would sell a pristine weapon made using those materials for a very high price (like around 60s, or 6000c). I sell them on for about 1s or 2s. Mostly for a laugh and mostly because I don't care about the items I'm making because the one I have is better than any of them.

LOL, that's a small loss, then, but compared to the other sales... woah.

OK, now I spotted something very funny last night.

It's quite often for me to find a Glowing item while mining, gathering or trapping things for new weapons to be made. These Glowing items are rare and considered to be Treasured. Though in actual fact, I find them all the time, sometimes a couple of times per session.

Just for a laugh, thought I'd find out how much a Glowing Flower sells for. It sells for 12g, as in.. 1200s, as in.. 120000c. So I listed it for 50s (5000c) and it sold instantly! This is a very fast way for me to make money. By doing this, I don't have to spend much time adventuring, and can build my tradeskill levels up very fast because I can just purchase the raw ingredients required to make weapons/chemicals at the Broker.

Heh, that's good, but again, I'd sell them for a bit more. Find a price where it sells instantly and gets you lots of money. I'd say 1 to 4g sounds about right.

It looks like the EQ2Players.com website is working again!

This is good, considering I'm paying an extra 99p/month for the features that weren't working a few days ago.

How's your character doing now?

Not too bad. I have a Level 23 Berserker and a Level 13 Mystic. I'm playing with the Mystic as much as possible right now, I'd like to get him up to Level 20 in the next week or so. The Mystic is already a Level 22 Alchemist (I think...)

I started playing again, since my girlfriend has started playing :)

I'm having loads of fun on it now, especially since I bought all of the expansion packs. It unlocks so much extra stuff - new islands, new playable characters, new ways to improve skills beyond just levelling up... it's very addictive.

I have some awesome screenshots to show you some time... some weird ones, some funny ones and some cool ones.

I took a screenshot of some guy 'flirting shamelessly with a badger'...
