Went to see this on weds with the Mrs, and here are my thoughts.
In 1945 Nazi Germany experimented on people with psychic abilities to create some kind of 'super soldier'. the war ended but the experiments continued, except all governments began to do it. An international group was set up called Division. Devisions main job was to capture people displaying some sort of psychic ability, and test a drug on them that supposidly enhanced their powers....except nobody has yet survived the administration of the drug. Execpt one.
A girl called Kira displaying a particular type of power called 'Pushing'. Pushers are able to put thoughts and memories into peoples minds, and convince them that something is real (or not real). Other types of powers are listed below: -
- Stiches - Healers
- Shadows - Can hid objects/people from view
- Watchers - Can see the future
- Bleeders - emit a scream so high pitched it pulps you from the inside (hence bleeding)
- Wipers - Can wipe your memory
- Movers - dumb name for telekinetics
- Shapers - make objects appear something they arnt
- Sniffs - can trace memories and times from items.
So Division dispatch their best to track down this girl Kira, a man names Henry Carver (played by the fantastic Dijmon Hounsou) who is also a Pusher.
A man named Nick (played by Chris Evans) is also being followed by Division as his father was the best Mover that they had ever come across. After a visit from Division he encounters a young girl called Cassie (Dakota Fanning) whos a Watcher. In fact her mother has been captured by Division, and they are using her to divine the future. So Nick agrees to help Cassie find the girl and the case the girl has to bring down Division.
Thats as much as im going to tell you
but its definetely a good film.For those of you that have seen Jumper (and were as disappointed as i was) this movie is EVERYTHING Jumper SHOULD of been. Its worth watching for people who like a bit of sci-fi/fantasy, or anyone who just wants to see some good action.
