I get this when I boot up quite a lot now. It happens just before the Windows splash screen (which doesn't happen when I get this message). It appears it's trying to read the wrong HDD irst, but the boot order is correct. I had to unplug my other HDDs to get it to work today.

Any ideas?

Pop in your vista disc, hit "oh noes i have problem you retard" and see what it says.

Now Vista is saying my HDD is failing, grrr.

Seems like it might actually be properly failing. Only reason I can think would be when the power dropped out, but I though HDDs were built to withstand that now.

I'll try the Vista disk.

Done a chkdsk, everything is fine there. Still get the Windows error "backup your stuff or you will lose it" (and there's no disable option, it keeps coming back, grr).

HD Tune 2.55 gives everything as good, except "(B8) (unknown attribute)" fails, with a value of 1, threashold of 99 and data o 156. Can't ind any informtaion about this online, though, it's not said what the meaning is.
