It is indeed, maybe they don't think it's necessary to include anymore, shame, really.

Lost coast was kind of lame anyway. Not really much to it in general. All I did was pull out all the massive weapong and blow everyone and everything up xP

It was a tech demo, to show off the HDR effects they were adding to the source engine at the time. Kinda old now, but interesting with the commentary, it really shows the difference.

If you played it with commentary it showed you the difference by turning the effects off and on in split screen.

I never really played it much anyway. I got into that weird church thing picked up loads of ammo and they had no idea what i was doing. So I just shot at random things in boredom before turning it off.

Oh, you just pull the side off the big gun with the gravity gun then shove something inside to break it. After that you've got a few soldiers and then a heli to kill.

You have to wait for the gun to go up then jam something big in it. On it's way down it will get stuck and make breaking noises. After that, you're still trapped, and combine will come through the ceiling and doors. You can then leave through the doors (after taking care of the combine).

Yup, that bit is quite hectic. Lost Coast is short, but it is fun.

Shotgun owns everything. Just charge at them and BOOM HEADSHOT.
Or thats how it tended to work on HL2 in the zombie place.. Though they were slow and spent most of their time throwing random stuff at you.

Yes, the shotgun is very effective, it kills most things in one shot close up, especially antlions, zombies and soldiers. Some soldiers require a double blast. The zombine (zombified combine in Ep1 and 2) require a double blast HS but usually require two double blasts...

I only really used the basic ones. the SMG thing on the game sucked to hell. Its the most inaccurate peice of shit ever. they basically have to be in your face for it be any good. And even then it does almost 0 damage..

The SMG isn't actually that bad, it's good at taking things out when they're moderately close and you can't shotgun. Also, the SMG nade is actually pretty effective.
What do you mean basic ones?

Basic fire. Not secondary. SMG nade is good but I found the SMG insanely rubish at taking out a line of enemies. You had to reload insane amounts and it didn't do the damage you needed really.

I actually find it good against mid range targets, quick burst shots are quite good at taking out enemies, and it has a nice large clip and lots of spare ammo. The AR2 is considerably better (more accurate and powerful) but you can only have 90 bullets max (30 loaded, 60 stored) compared to the SMG's 295.
Also, you really should use the secondary fires, there's a lot of variety and usefulness there. The SMG nade, the AR2 orb, grenade rolling (good for short distance under things), crossbow scope and shotgun double shot (very powerful). The tau cannon on the car also does a charged blast, for lots of damage. Of course there's the GGuns secondary aswell, but you need that to actually use the thing.

I have used the nade but the double shotgun blast seemed pointless and a waste against stuff I can kill in one anyway..

Yeah, it is quite wastful except against the stronger enemies. It's good vs poison zombies and zombine, possibly combine soldiers too.
