I'd put this in the news feed for the server, but it's not really news, just an interesting issue I found with the server (explains why it died before due to lack of disk space)

Anyway, what's this mean exactly? That there was a load of programs which came with the OS that we didn't need and were hogging space?

Gah, I didn't scroll down. ><

So it was denied permissions to write to those directories and therefore thought it didn't have enough space? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
