You have £3,000. All yours. You have to spend it on PC parts. What would your "dream PC" consist of?
(points to whoever gets the most power out of £3,000)

Right... I would buy 13 Playstation 3s:

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-2034.aspx
£249*0.9=£224.1 (discount)

floor(£3000/£224.1) = 13 (£2913.30 - even have money for a monitor :D)

So 13 Playstation 3s in a nice little cluster... do I win now?

Nah, PS3 cluster isn't good for much. If you're thinking raw power, a multi Xeon + top end graphics would be much better.

I want raw power I can use. I have linux and tools that can run what I want across multiple devices and load balance and everything autonomously ;)

Well, GPGPU is taking off quite nicely, an updated FASTRA would probably be pretty insane :P

It can do if it fits the budget.

I asked for a dream PC, not what you would do with £3,000 (you'd probably be able to sell them on ebay and make a profit though) :P

A good hammer and chisel aught to do it. I don't guarantee usability afterwards, mind.

Spoke to you, and it is officially a "PC" since you suggested putting all 13 together then putting a cardboard box over them. Win idea is win!

(now seriously, PC parts for £3,000)
