Would anybody be able to help with getting some addons ... ie the maps ect, its kinda annoying not knowing where quests are :''(

The only addon I use is the EQ2Map.

You can download it from here:

Just be sure to launch the game through the EQ2Map Updater in order to make sure you have the latest maps loaded every time you play. If you run Windows Vista, you may need to run it as Administrator.

my game is in steam, will it still work?

Yeah it should do. You might just need to browse to the game folder in your Steam directory.
