And also:
Quote:
Minor note: all TF2 machines report back min/max/avg FPS to our backend servers, indexed by CPU & GPU. The average framerate for a 4 core, 2.4 Ghz Intel CPU with a GTX 275 card is 79 fps. So if you’re seeing 40 fps, you’re definitely not getting what you should be getting. I assume you’re running the latest drivers?

So Valve know what fps you are getting when you play the game. I wonder what other data they collect...

They collect hoardes of data, including where people die on maps.

One quote from that thread;

Let me mention that this computer played Crysis, the king of graphics, on all high (yes, that includes anti-aliasing), with DX10, without going below 80fps.

LULWUT?

Also, it looks like he hasn't enabled multicore rendering.

I know, but we do not know what every single piece of data they collect about us is.

How good is that GTX 275 compared to a HD 4850?

Not actually off-topic, I was just going to compare my FPS... :P

Why are you suprised?

They probably know exactly what paths we take on each map, exactly how long it takesus to get there, how common certain routes are... They already know where death choke points are. They probably collect a whole myriad of data on us. Which servers we join, how long we play, classes, points, speed, fps, power.... operating system graphics drivers etc etc etc

Then what dark magic is he using to have Crysis on Ultra High with anti-aliasing and still get a solid FPS above 80?
