A mate of mine bought a PS3 last week off Ebay. It's working fine, apart from the fact that it won't play any UK DVD's (only US DVD's)

What he wants to know is, if he got a US Action Replay, would he be able to play UK DVD's?

Hmm, well it seems he has a US PS3, which is region coded to be US only. I don't see how an Action Reply (cheat?) will fix this? Or am I missing something?

Yeah, Action Replay's are also made so that you can play DVD's region free

Ah, I see, well I wouldn't know. He could try it, can't hurt, can it? And after all, if he's got the money to buy an eBay PS3 he can surely afford an Action Reply, lol.

I just gave him 135 squids to help him out financially. I don't know whether he does!! He said I could keep whatever money his PSP sells for on Ebay, though I need to grab the picture of the PSP off him before I can list it.

Ah, I see, well he shouldn't be importing PS3s, then, they cost loads on eBay! How much did he pay?

And yes PS3's are region locked, however, because there has been no european launch, they have not yet been programmed to even consider UK DVD's. Ur frined might have a problem getting an ARMAX disk that will cater for it.... Or he can get a universal decoder fomr the US
