Seems reasonable, though I would personally go for an Intel over an AMD, and probably change the balance of CPU/mobo to more in the CPU side (ASUS Sabertooth line is generally overkill, though that mobo isn't too expensive).

May also want to consider 1600MHz RAM if going with Intel - that's the native speed these days, I think (not really sure, haven't looked much at RAM lately). It won't be much different in price either way.

I'd definitely go with an i5 over the 4100, and if you put the mobo down a bit it wouldn't really cost much more for a big performance gain!
There's some other CPUs that I've been linked to by a friend, but I'll have a proper sort through tomorrow before I get some revision done!

Out of interest, what 'errors' are you experiencing with your current set-up?

I agree with skillers with regards to goign with intel and the cpu/motherboard ratio. though IIRC if you get a sandy bridge based processor, the RAM clock is only 1333 though ivy bridge does do 1600.

Apart from that, those specs seem fine to me.

Right, after looking at what you have suggested the current build plan is:

Seagate 2TB BARRACUDA 3.5" SATA-III Hard Drive - 7200RPM 64MB Cache
£85.00

NZXT Tempest 410 Elite Black Case
£64.98

Corsair 600W CX Series V2 PSU - 6x SATA 2x PCI-E
£58.44

Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Socket 1155 VGA DVI HDMI 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
£79.98

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 Gigabyte motherboard promotion
£0.00

Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
£169.47

G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V
£39.80

Sapphire HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
£108.99

Samsung SH-222BB 22x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Optical Drive - OEM Black
£12.99

In regards to the errors Met, it will just freeze for no reason randomly and the only way to get it back is to use the power button, I've tried updating drivers for things, removing and re-installing recently installed things
Opening my computer and cleaning the fans but still I am having the same issue...

No. It starts with a 2. It's a second gen Sandy Bridge.

And on that note, the equivalent Ivy Bridge (the 3570K) is only a little bit more expensive (<£10) but offers some improvements over the previous (faster at stock, more PCIE bandwidth), might be worth a look. Only disadvantage isn't it doesn't overclock quite as well when doing large overclocks (it will still hit 4.3GHz easily).

That is a good point Skillers. Thanks, current total will be £630... I was hoping for it to be less than £600 but yeah...

You could probably get a similar case (with regards to ease of building) for a fair bit less than what you are paying there.

You can also save ~£5 on RAM just looking for a slightly cheaper set with the same specs, same for HDD.
