Had a couple of issues starting my PC today. Powered on briefly, fans started spinning, then it turned off. It did it again. On the third time it asked me if I wanted to do a Windows Startup Recovery, which I accepted, and it restarted again. Then I just told it to start Windows normally and it booted fine and hey, here I am!

I was wondering what you guys think this might be? PSU on the way out? If I posted a screenshot showing the voltages, would you be able to tell me if they seem 'normal' ?

I could do with a new PSU but ideally not until next year.

Hmm, that could be a number of things, but PSU is a good place to start. Post the voltages.

I sorted the problem... it was faulty RAM

Removed the modules and the system works fine again. I'm sending them back for RMA.

RMA is my form tutor's initials!

Ask him how he feels about the eight gigs. Or her of course.
