Pros - Well supported by Apple, lots of accessories (as much as I hate that), plays AAC.
Cons - Shit, scratches easily. Only plays AAC and MP3, not WMA or WAV. Video has poor screen for video and can only play MP4 (I think), iTunes only. Previous problems include batteries breaking easily (overcharging). Very hard to replace the batteries (have to send back). Expensive.

In other words, you can get much better and cheaper players.

Though if you have a Windows PC and want to drag and drop using Windows Explorer, grab Anapod Explorer from Red Chair Software. It cost about $15 through PayPal when I got it a few years ago, and I've had no problems with it.

I think the fact that it doesn't play WMA is a pro, and WAV's aren't very portable anyway. The only WAV's I have on this PC are system sounds.

Surely being able to play as much as possible is good. Quite a lot of my collection is wma (I rip in mp3, but get lots of music from friends). Also, i don't think iPods play ogg files either.

I wish companies would't automatically use their propriety formats rather than the widely compatable formats, like MP3. For example, I want a MacBook, where iTunes is the best player (WMP is out of date on Macs), but lots of my music is in WMA format because most people rip using WMP, and that automatically uses the WMA format, like iTunes uses AAC.

Though you can still play WMA and WMV on a Mac with a free codec.
