I +1 this. But yeah... I prefer it to facebook, though as to why I'm not too sure.

There's a few things about how I feel:

Much better friends/privacy settings. Well, I say that, they're actually there in FB but much more opaque. The addition of Twitter-like following is also nice.
As you pointed out on it, +1 is superior to like - you can agree with someone without "liking" what they wrote. I've come across a few situations on FB where like seemed really inappropriate, but wanted to agree with someone. On the other hand, "like" can be a much more friendly gesture. Swings and roundabouts.
Interface is somewhat slicker, and seems faster and more reliable.

Feels lacking though, but may just be the lack of people.

I think it will really come down to whether people will actually be bothered to switch or indeed set up an account. Some people have a lot of time invested in FB and a large number of "friends", so may not want to leave and see an extra social network as pointless.
