Im sure a few of you know what DLNA is, and im sure most of you have seen or own things like wifi Stereos that'll connect to your pc and stream music straight from Itunes or Media player, things like the Apple Airport Express.

What i want to know is why doesnt anyone make an affordable system that will work properly.

DLNA is close to this, anything that has the DLNA sticker will connect with each other and you pc (via your wireless router) allowing media sharing easily. The problem with DLNA is that it only supports a few formatts, most noteable it DOESNT support MP3 or WMA.

Why cant anyone make something I actually want to buy for media sharing so I can stream music from my pc to my Speakers around the house, wirelessly?

I run a small linux server in my house that streams music and alot of stuff around my house. For example I watch movies through my wii that are streamed from a flashapp on the appserver.

(Then again my mp3 player has wifi so streaming to that to any speakers is just win).

But being me, this is an over-the-top complex setup because I like to make stuff like this xD

So unless your running Linux its overly priced to do this sort of thing? I can do the movies on Wii using the internet channel and a special sort of remote file thing i found, but other than that... nothing.

I would get an Aiport Express but you need either an Iphone or Itouch to control it (which im going to get an Itouch, just not yet) so thats makes it useless.

Do you have a mobile phone with bluetooth and a windows machine with bluetooth?

I have a program installed on my phone called JM2PC BT Client, works as a remote control for pc, if that helps?

A program runs on the pc and phone. They communicate to send messages to each other that can be used to essentially remote control the pc fully.

So could i use that to stream to the phone at the same time, then plug the phone into a cd player?

Actually, I don't know if that would let streaming work, that would let you remote control a pc, which might let you control something else. This is not strictly streaming, it just allows you to control something doing the streaming.
