Has anybody else noticed the new message that Microsoft have put into their installers (such as the one for .NET framework 2, VS05 and Vista)? No, well ill quote it:
[quote:c6bccab88d="M$ Installers"]Installation is taking longer than expected, but should be finishing soon[/quote:c6bccab88d]
Why should we believe these? The last time i had one of these, it was 2 hours until installation finished, and now that i have one again in the newer 9GB install version of Vista, with only 3GB installed, god knows how long it'll take to install.

Personally, I prefer a percentage. That way I can work out roughly how long.

I prefer a number. The percentage bars often look wrong.

on old things they normaly are wrong cause it has a auto time gap between each block as well as the extra time for the persentage to be correct but now it takes so moch less time it can be finished before it says 50 percent

Yeah, but the newer ones calculate it by amount transferred (accurate) or number of files (innacurate as files differ in size).
