This is what I'd consider a rarity, but this new card seriously rips off and chews up the ass of the Radeon X1800XT 512MB. As standard, this card is clocked at a core speed of 550MHz, and a memory speed of, get this: 1800MHz.

It's due to be released on Monday 14th November (4 days). I'd love to see how this card compares with everything else on the market, and even how much it will kick its lil brothers ass, the 7800GTX 256MB.

I think ATI and Nvidia have been anticipating each others moves for a long time, especially with these 'next-gen' cards, but I'm sure they have a lot more under their sleeves ready for the next few months, or even sooner.

So for once, I must say that I am actually really satisfied with the new 7800GTX 512MB for totally annihilating the competition.

And this is coming from an ATI person, who came from an Nvidia background. Just wondering what you lot think about this one?

What's unusual about this card is the high clocks, nVidia usually have lower clocks than ATIs, but with more pipelines and stuff, which makes the ATI and nVidia cards similar speeds. Now nVidia has higher clocks and more pipelines!

Eat that ATI!

But like I said, this is definitely going to be another anticipated move, and I'm going to hold fire on purchasing another graphics card for a while.

Well, it's pretty lame if ATI just release their X1800XT with the standard clocks it has now. I do not believe that they will just lie defeated (at least in the pro gamer/enthusiast market).

Well, It'll be something like that (but not X2 - that will be in about 1 year). And it did, both in performance and supply.

Probably. Something like a 1600MHz memory clock and a 500MHz on the core. Would still eat in to the X1800XT a lot.

Hmm, still, it is coming! I don't think it's a lie, and it was announced so close to it's apparant release date, it should have been nearly finished, meaning very little in the matter of delays.

I'd expect to see that drop heavily, especially during mid February.
