Right, so the V1000 case... Surely, something is wrong with it? The air comes through the front and then out of the bottom, instead of the top, and the motherboard tray is reversed, so you open your case on the other side... Right, ok, but isn't hot air meant to rise? The PSU is to be placed on the bottom to, wait for it, suck cool air out (and presumably leave hot air in your system) ... What's going on!? I'd like to see some benchmarks of the Lian Li V1000 case vs. say, the Coolermaster Wavemaster ... because if it's better I'll buy it in a snap.

Quite a lot of new cases do this, something to do with the upcoming BTX motherboard "standard".
As for a good case, I suggest you check out the CoolerMaster Stacker - huge case, really customisable. Great for watercooling (though version 1 may be better than version 2 for this [V2 is slightly "tweaked"])

I dislike the stacker, it's just too big.

The V1000 definitely looks good, but is the cooling really something special? I know my motherboard tray can be switched over, also, there are some rails for the mobo tray on the opposite side, and a diagram on the Coolermaster site. I just don't understand the concept of hot air going down.

Yes, that's one concept I don't get, as hot air rises, its better to have the hot components at the top, so it doesn't heat the other components up. That's one way watercooling has a great benefit, you can acurately control the flow of heat.

I think the idea is a sort of "windtunnel", as it lines the fans and the CPU up, while not swapping the front fan and drive bays round (the drive bays are more practical in their current position).
