Is this the same computer you were having problems with already?
Either way, it looks like you might have faulty hardware, in particular a HDD (as it seems to be having errors). I also noticed you didn't have much space left, or was that just the partioning?
One thingh you might want to try first is a virus/spywere scan, as this may be cuasin the problems. If that doesn't work, you may want to try a format-and-reinstall before buying new hardware.

That sounds like some of the registery enteries concerning this had been deleted. Or some of the other files associated with it. It culd be a faulty harddrive or viruses and spywere, like I said before.

I've had the same with HL2 Lost Coast, and its not the reg or any other part of the pc, its BLODDY STUPID STEAM!![/size:10c4f3fe10]
Its servers download the info, it then does a check to make sure that the data youve just downloaded is correct by MD5-ing it, if it fails then it deletes it and you have to redownload it, im guessing that there is a problem with several of the steam servers as it has happened to many peoples computers, including mine which i checked and it is running perfectly,
wait a min, WTF wheres HL2!?! i h8 steam[/size:10c4f3fe10]

That wouldn't explain his second loss though...
Oh, and I don't think there's any reason not to hate Steam.

You've used quite a lot of space then. I think there's something about keeping 10% of your space free on the Windows partition, meaning you should have 16GB free. Not sure why, its just something I've heard.

its 15% for the use of defraging and more efficient virus checking etc.

[quote:414677e888="Black Flash"]This is why u shud go to mac, not a single problem yet. Not even a crashed program[/quote:414677e888] In about a week, yeah, real incentive. Anyway, look at one of the problems - Steam, you can't get that on a Mac! So it wouldn't fix his problem, just means he can't play it at all! Anyway, will you please stop telling everyone with PC problems to get a Mac, it's not very constructive.
Another problem with lack of space is that the read/write heads on the HDD will be neare the edge of the disk, meaning they skip more (don't ever fill a disk up, HDDs have been known to break because the heads came off the disk).
