OK, I read this article in a magazine;
[quote:56f58903a3="A Certain Magazine"] Are you willing to live in a tiny cubby without access to the great outdoors, the local Barnes & Noble, or ESPN? If so, Google wants you for its next big project. The proposed Copernicus Center, which the company plans to construct on the near side of the moon, will need plucky workers to research what happens to Internet technology once it leaves Earth, including such intriguing questions as "Does spam go on forever?" and "What happens to PageRank in the proximity of a black hole?" Successful applicants will also help update the new Google moon map?launched July 20 at http://moon.google.com ?by indexing the future space businesses that will surely crop up once we find an economical way to actually reach the moon. Unsurprisingly, the map is still sparse. Zoom in close?street level on most online maps?and you get a decidedly unhelpful surprise. (See for yourself.) But in the future, the locations of lunar caf?s and bowling alleys will be accessible from the comfort of your radiation-proof lunar pod (or whatever moon-dwellers will live in).
People with the ability to retain muscle mass with little gravity?or to live without much oxygen, for that matter?are especially welcome. Learn about what your potential job entails, and apply, at www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html. But don?t feel bad if you don?t hear back. Google reports that ever since the job description was first posted..., the response has been overwhelming.[/quote:56f58903a3] I have removed a couple of peices of information which I will reveal later.
So, what do people think?

The Google Moon itself as it stands, is good, as ive always wanted to look at detail at the moon, and i am a fan of the google maps gui, which it is based on.
About the lunar jobs, thats nice of you to show up one of 2004s april fools day joke :)
Oh yeah, about the zoom in, everyone knows that the moon is made of cheese :!: :?: :!: :D [/size:353dab2fd1]

Lol, yeah, this was an April Fools day joke. The bit I missed out from the end of my quote (the ...) is on "April Fools day". I got it from an article in the October 2005 Issue of Popular Science (OK, it's an American magazine, but I found it lying about the house). I thought it was this years joke, though.
The Google Moon page is actually quite interesting in itself, it's quite a cool picture. I only just noticed that on the closest zoom it goes yellow and splodged, like the tipical view of cheese.
Google always do great April Fools jokes. It's quite ironic then, that one of their biggest ever announcements was made on April Fools, and everyone thought it was a joke. I am, of course, talking about their announcement of a 1GB email service in 2004 - GMail!

If you're on about GMail, that's not a joke. If you're on about Google Moon, we've already said that!

Yes, I remember that, but it was obviously a joke, and was meant to be like that.

No, this is clearly a joke, though it may come true by coincidence.
