Heat powered fan, but the fan looks puny and like it wouldn't push much air
Also, if the air is blowing from that fan on to the heatsink, it would work against traditional case airflow - where cool air is taken in at the front/bottom, and exhausted from the back/top.

Apart from that, definitely a very, very good idea!!

Nice idea, poor implimention. Considering that's a NB heatsink, at that size a passive heatsink would probs be perfectly fine.

If it's for X48 then that fan had better spin fast!

I take it the X48 is supposed to be hot, then?

Also, I don't really get what this saves, running a tiny fan is the least of the ecological worries when it comes to a high end PC.

I think it's one of those small steps. Maybe they could harness all the heat from the back of the board and turn it in to one massive 300mm case fan

True, it is just small steps. If they could make one that harness all the heat to cool it. That would be good.
