My latop's charger just messed up. It has a light on the charger that tells you when its on, this light is on when I plug it in to the wall, but when I plug the charger into the laptop, it just stops... the light goes off and it doesnt charge. Now im stuck with a laptop with no battery (which happens to be where the files for my website are so I can't edit it).

Anyone got any ideas as to why the charger (or maybe laptop) has broken?

No idea, but you should be able to get a new one fairly easily.

I would suggest simply buying a new cable. My laptop is on it's third power cable and I have only had it about 3 years. A new cable sorted it out instantly :)

I had a problem where my power adapter overheated and died. Got a replacement through Dell.

Fortunately its sort of my dads work laptop, basically he nevers uses it for work i i can use it for old games :D this means i can take it to their guy and get it sorted for free :) Hopefully he'll give me another cable if thats what the problem is. If not people online say its a motherboard related problem,in which they'll give me a new shiney laptop...
